I'm somewhat suprised to hear this and I apologize if it has already been talked about, but I was just in my car listening to Sportsrap or whatever show it is that Mattingly does and he and "Odus" reported that their sources are very confident that Tubberville will come.

Has anyone else heard anything to substantiate this? Also, what are the chances that he could bring Kodi Burns/Lee Ziemba with him?

...oh yeah, I forgot to add that Mattingly had a guy from the Birmingham newspaper on too. He said that these rumors are getting started strictly b/c Tubberville is trying to renegotiate his contract in Auburn. This leads me to believe that he is at least listening.

I would be cautious of anything being said these days.  Many "sources" are leaving town, and it appears Jeff Long doesn't tip his hand.

I don't know who I want, but Tubs has been very successful in the SEC, why don't you want him?...(I'm not arguing with you, just curious)

From what I understand it is because he doesn't want anyone but some Gus guy.

It's all a part of the game. I don't think he is coming. He like every other coach uses these opportunities to milk their current employer out of more money. He will show as much interest as he possibly can without commiting. Auburn will pony up a big deal for him and we will be left thinking, Man we almost had him.

Is Bo ever right about anything?

Be nice.   After all, he and his colleagues told us all the secrets of the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory :)
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I think people give our Administration way too much credit. They have no idea how the game works. They think just because a coach shows interest that it is a done deal. They just need to make the right offer.

The truth is the agents for these coaches are telling them their client is interested when in reality all they want is for them to make an offer that they can dangle in front of their current employer.

As I recall Bo reported HDN buyout . . . only he reported it was happening about a year ago.

Tubby beat Auburn 6 years in a row. They will not let him go that easily if at all.

Razorod

do any of us KNOW that we even approached TT? My sense is that Long is working on this and he is talking to and interviewing coaches that we are unaware of. A lot of false leads may be going out on purpose to keep us away from the coach they truly want.
Hoping the Hogs basketball fortunes change for the better this season.

Bo Mattingly is never correct with crap like this.  In fact all local media stinks in these situations.

Pssst.   Alabama.    When at Ole Piss, Tubby went 0-4 against Auburn.

BO is full of it because TT signed an extension this evening with AUBURN!

hog_fan

do you people like it when someone uses us.?Some of you seem all happy bo who i don't even like was wrong or aleast it seems as he is wrong. That link if true says president has to approve it.

The Realist

I love how people think he signed an extension with Auburn so all is lost.
A) I Can guarantee you he hasn't signed it
B) Even if he did we can still buy him out and he can leave
C) I don't think we are getting him so it won't matter.  We were leverage for better facilities and pay.

People need to stop taking one thing and making it another.  Has Nick Saban not taught you anything?

Definetly the best man for the job.  These folks wanting Leach or Kiffin have a screw loose.

Marshfieldhog

offered and signed is two different deals....remember Nutt left on his own...a whole lotta of lying going on.

lemme guess, you want gus?  sorry, but gus isn't SEC head coach material at this point.  maybe after Tuberville wins his 3rd straight national title and is tired of coaching gus will get a shot, but until then it looks foolish to say gus should be our coach.

First of all, Bo is a tool.  He changed his tune so fast it messes you up once he got on the University's pay roll or on the radio.  Secondly, Long will take his time.  Remember he has till after the bowl game.  Its over a month to get the right guy for the job.  The right guy for the job resides at North Carolina right now.  Tuberville buyout is 6 million.  Butch's buyout is two million.  I would take Butch over Tubby anyday because of his recruting ability.  Will I support Tubby if we get him.  Of course, its go hogs all over again.  If you are willing to pay 6 million on that buyout then you should be willing to pay a coach a three million dollar salary with pay based on performance on the field.  ie 5 million bonus for SEC championship.  10 million BCS championship.

Run D-Mac Run

Inside sources say its one of two candidates ... Tuberville or Kiffin. I hope they're both wrong. Would like to see Leach come and keep Herring as defensive coordinator or assistant head coach. Here's to Leach coming to UA.

Bo is not a "tool" he is a objective reporter. Butch Davis is not interested in the job, he gave Arkansas two years to hire him and they failed.  Who can blame him? Get over yourself and realize he is not coming here.
