For many years, Hogville members who love Razorback Baseball have come together to produce these game threads with play-by-play narrative for those that depend on it as their only source and for those that just simply enjoy it. These threads have been a foundation for great Hogville discussions and that tradition continues today as this is NOT a read only thread (all Hogville posting rules apply).

JHicks3636 will provide the play-by-play narrative for this game.  Razorbacks#1, A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S, Wisco Pig, sir-pigs-a-lot, JHGiunta, ucahogfan, Maddhog and Cornfed Pig, will assist with stats, back up, and support. We hope that the many other regular posters will join in also and continue to add quality input. If you are new to the Extra Innings - Razorback Baseball Game Threads and you understand the rules, feel free to join in the conversations. Is there a reason Jake isn't starting or does he just get a day off?

He looks frustrated to me. Hasn't had a great series. Maybe still not feeling well....It's just a day off.

Ok thanks. Sometimes a day off can do wonders for a hitter

Interesting with lee leading off

I think he runs the bases as well as anyone we have from what I've seen. Last night notwithstanding, he is one of our better runners. If we can get Evan Lee going into the stretch run , get Wilson  back to full strength, and Cronin and reindl to emerge out of the pen, we could have a special run.

Also if good taccolini makes more appearances than bad taccolini, we should have a decent enough pen.

DVH said in his post game PC that Lee was the best base runner on the team. I wouldn't have thought that, but my opinion is based on my limited number of times watching him. It probably helps that DVH sees every practice and scrimmage, haha. I'm glad he's getting a chance today, and Arledge will be a right handed PH if we need one, or one that's actually had a hit.

Not to hijack the game thread, but wow, ZERO seniors in the line up.

How many come back? I know Shaddy and Bonfield tested the waters last year. Bonfield is probably gone and Shaddy may still need to prove himself. Spanberger is probably gone. Will Biggers stay if he keeps hitting well? Anyone else?

I'd prefer a game like Thursday rather than a game like yesterday.

Agree, my heart can't take many games like yesterday's game.

I think next years lineup will include:

McFarland
Fletcher
Lee
Biggers
Cole
Koch
Gates (biggest question)

There are other good guys coming back who will probably be pretty good after a year of development.  This will easily be the best returning lineup Arkansas has had in a long time.

With what we have potentially coming back, both this years players and pitchers coming off injury, and Tony V's recruiting we should be strong again next year.

JHicks3636

Maxwell leads off for Georgia, starts with a ball, 1-1, 1-2, foul, 2-2, strikes out swinging

Curry, the Hog butcher, goes 0-1, 0-2, 1-2, hits it to 1B, out to pitcher, runner moves to 2B with 2 outs
