Yeah, that was badly worded. I meant that some Mods are friends/colleagues with people connected to these shows and stations. So I could understand why they wouldn't be pleased with some of the recent conversation regarding some shows.

On a positive note, its really hard to beat Mike Irwin at noon and Bo's show in the afternoon. Mike's input is informative and no nonsense.  Bo has interesting guests and discussion. As for THE BUZZ, my favorite is when Trey Biddy comes on at 5pm.

And i agree with all of you. Jimmy B radio is bad radio. The voice. I can't get pastthe voice. It's so manufactured. i had high hopes for 93.3 because the buzz is horrible. Most people that i spoke to listen to the buzz because they didn't know that there was an alternative. i tell them about 93.3.

The locked thread is actually a good discussion.  Folks aren't just saying "it sucks"...they are telling you WHY it sucks and what it is they like about the shows they do tune in for.  A lot of us didn't listen for 5 minutes and turn away.  We really gave it a shot because we are starving for an alternative to 103.7's morning show.  If you want to ignore that kind of feedback, that's on you.

I agree. I so badly want an alternative for 103.7 and its bad radio. For the most part 93.3 is better once Game On starts. The 2 shows before Game On just aren't very good. The worst part of it is radio voice guy. I could give the other 2 a real chance, but radio voice guy makes it impossible.

I'm sure all the ad council crap is good for tax writeoffs since they are all 501(3)(c) charities. But yeah, hearing about hungry kids all the time actually makes me give fewer cares about them. There, I said it.

Jimmy B is awful. He's a professional in a public setting so there's no reason folks can't be critical of him. His voice is so overbearing and my god that laugh.. it is almost like a Mad TV skit it is so bad. I have no idea how the people that own/run 93.3 could listen to him in interviews or whatever and think, "yeah, this is our guy".

Let me tell you a little story about a guy named "satellite radio."  Seriously, in the morning drive, Little Rock is a radio desert.

I kind of thought Jimmy B was from somewhere far northeast US and that's what explained his accent or radio voice.

Lol, I mean really if you think about it this radio/TV news voice is a topic of conversation. There is no way these people talk like this in person, especially news reporters. It's like they start sentences out at a low key...mid way through the sentence the key tops out....then as they end the sentence the voice goes back at an even keel.

It's for sure unlike two people having a conversation with one another...or even someone giving a public speech. There is something about these people on the air...most of them come with different accents...annunciation...and melody even. Jimmy B is on the extreme end of this spectrum, but I honestly just figured the guy was from Maine or something weird.

In a way it might make a reputation for yourself, because honestly people can't see you...they can only hear your voice, so maybe you are trying to make yourself original and not sound like a normal person people hear every day. Of course you have sports people who aren't on the air full time, they sound more normal and don't feel the need to change their voice and tone.
