He has not spoke about it yet.

Why did Al Borges resign?  I missed that one.

Why did Al Borges resign?

Tubby informed him last week he was going to be fired if he didn't quit (according to a paper in Alabama).

What other canidates?  Kelly, Venables or Herring Holtz.  Big difference

Opine: thanks so much for the update. We had been waiting for something like a definitive word, and now we have one...

Muschamp is still a possibility though a LONG way from a done deal.  Jeff Long is still pursuing other candidates as well.

I don't know if that is what Finebaum will say.  If he does, he's right.

What the hell is going on opine?  Why can't we get this done?

If you know, is it a long way from a done deal because Long is still pursuing other candidates or because there is some holdup with Muschamp (money, who will be on his staff, etc.)?

Not sure if Kelly is a candidate.
Herring has an interview recently.  Not sure how solid those rumblings of Skip Holtz are.
Venables might be the last resort.

Patience everyone (and I'm speaking mainly to myself).  This may take a couple of days.  Long is still swinging for the fences.  Can't fault him for his tenacity.

A few years ago, if we struck out with Grobe and Davis, we'd take the first coach to knock on our door.
Credit Long for trying to find that major hire.

Long seems to be determined to hire a head coach even if a coordiator would be better.

I'll take swinging for the fences!  I'll take Mush and Venables as fall backs!

that was as far from definitive as ive read....

it was, perhaps, the most general statement a person can make while pretending to be in the know, ...it is likely a correct assumption, speculation with a high probability of being correct...not defeinitive.

Skip Holtz isn't exactly the fence. Niether is Reggie. Are there some mystery candidates?

Bomis Hawg

Nothing.  The show just returned from a commercial.
They have some seriously long commercials.

Swinging for the fences = Petrino or Kiffin, is my hope. Maybe not to Long, but Muschamp seems like a home run to me at this point.

huntindoc

Long needs to be cautious, he could po Muschamp and lose him chasing a pipe dream.

At least it's not Skip or Reggie that's in the mix.

He said that he would speak on it, when, I do not know. Mainly their talking about Al Borges being fired.

the fences I would say are Kiffin, Petrino

Skip Holtz = Reaching First Base on an error.
Petrino = Pujols-type bomb.

Its the things they have uncovered up to this point that make them credible.  You are the reason they never post.

Dr Swineglove

Why is Long still swinging for the fences?  He went after a few big names and whiffed.  If we're down to either mediocrities or unproven up-and-comers who could be great, I'll take the up-and-comer.

I think Skip Holts is more like reaching on catcher's interference.   You don't even have to hit the damn ball.

Oh, it's not Long I'm worried about.

Time is on our side.

Jumping the gun to get a coach for the next two weeks, rather than waiting for the right hire is DUMB and shortsighted.

But, if Venables is our last resort, we're in good shape.
