Arkansas hosted Carthage (Texas) running back Kelvontay Dixon for an official visit this weekend.
Following the visit, Dixon talked about how it went.
“I liked everything about this visit, being with the coaches was the highlight of the visit,” Dixon said. “I feel like I learned new things one this visit, how they run the school and program, stuff like that. I feel like I got closer to a decision. I think it was probably the spring game. I liked seeing the running backs, the acceleration, everything about that.”
You are smiling a lot, does that mean you really liked it at Arkansas?
“I’m smiling because it’s a very nice place, I like everything about it,” Dixon said. “I plan to set more officials, I don’t know where yet.”
You have been recruited by schools as a running back and wide receiver. How does Carthage use you in its offense?
“My high school uses me as a hybrid type,” Dixon said.
Dixon listed Texas and SMU as other schools he’s considering. When do you think you will make a decision?
“I’ll probably decide later on, maybe when the season starts,” Dixon said.
He was hosted by Rakeem Boyd. What are you still working on to continue to improve your game?
“I’m still working on my speed and quickness,” Dixon said.
Your teammate at Carthage, offensive lineman Ty’kieast Crawford, has been to Fayetteville many times and is high on the Razorbacks. Has he been in your ear about Arkansas too?
“Ty’kieast is in my ear sometimes,” Dixon said. “He talks about what it would be like if we joined them.”
Crawford will officially visit Arkansas next weekend.
