A Ben Hicks led offense struggled for most of the first half of Arkansas’ 2019 Red-White Football game in Fayetteville. Going up against the number one defense while missing a starter in the offensive line and at tight end, the top offense had trouble making first downs behing a running game that was mostly stuffed.
Hicks was pressured throughout the half but did get off a couple of deep balls that were both overthrown. However, with time running out in the second quarter, Hicks completed back-to-back passes and then hit freshman receiver Trey Knox under heavy presser. Knox turned on the jets and outran the secondary for a 45 yard touchdown catch.
In the 3rd quarter sophomore-to-be quarterback John Stephen Jones found tight end Grayson Gunter on a 30 yard touchdown pass. From that point on head coach Chad Morris turned the game over to the 3rd team offense and defense.
The defense got the win 39-32 on a scoring system set up by Morris.
