Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy 2020 linebacker Devyn Curtis was among the recruits at Arkansas’ Elite Prospect Day on Saturday.
Curtis, 6-2, 211, is among the top recruits in Tennessee in 2020. How did it go and what did you think about it?
“I really liked it,” Curtis said. “I mean it was a lot better than I was expecting to be honest.”
In what way was it better?
“The facilities were a lot better than I was expecting,” Curtis said. “These are some of the best facilities I’ve seen so far.”
Which other schools have you visited?
“I have visited South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Georgia Tech and I feel like there’s a few others I might be missing,” Curtis said.
What did this visit do for Arkansas going forward?
“I don’t have an offer yet, so I can’t really say,” Curtis said. “It hasn’t gotten me close to committing or anything. If they offered it would bring me back up here again for sure. I really, really liked it.”
As far as the Arkansas coaches, what did they say to you?
“They said I’m really high on their board and they can’t wait to see me later this spring,” Curtis said.
Curtis holds SEC offers from Kentucky, South Carolina, Missouri and Vanderbilt. Nebraska and others have offered as well. What is your speed?
“I haven’t run the 40 in awhile so I would say 4.7,” Curtis said.
The Razorbacks have gotten some guys out of Tennessee does that help?
“For sure with getting guys like Trey Knox and seeing a lot of Tennessee people in there it’s nice to know they are recruiting Tennessee,” Curtis said.
Curtis also gets it done in the classroom as well as on the football field.
“This year it’s a 3.5 (GPA) overall it’s around a 3.0,” Curtis said. “I think it will be up near a 3.25 by the end of the year.”
