Lufkin Wide Receiver Ja’Lynn Polk Talks Hogs

By Otis Kirk

Lufkin (Texas) wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk is one of the talented 2020 recruits who were at Arkansas on Saturday.

Polk is rated a three-star recruit and has multiple scholarship offers. He was at Arkansas on Saturday to attend an Elite Prospect Day. He was impressed with Arkansas and has no doubts better days are ahead for the program.

“They are making it happen,” Polk said. “They are making a big come back from what they had last year. I saw practice today and they have a lot of great players out there.”

Polk enjoyed visiting with Arkansas head coach Chad Morris, running backs coach Jeff Traylor and wide receivers coach Justin Stepp on his trip.

“It was amazing,” Polk said. “ I loved it. I love Coach Traylor, Coach Morris and Coach Stepp. They are real good to me, show me a lot of love and I really love it here.”

As far as your own game, what do you feel you do well and maybe need to work on the most?

“I feel good about mostly everything,” Polk said of the strengths of his game. “There are a few things I still have to work on, getting off the ball and stuff like that. Just little things that I can get fixed really easy.”

Polk said Arkansas, Houston and Baylor are his top three schools at the present time.

“I am narrowing things down and hopefully I will make my decision before football season starts,” Polk said. “I will have that done for sure.”
