Arkansas is hosting former Arizona State running back Trelon Smith for a visit this weekend and he has opted to be a Razorback.

The former Houston (Texas) Cy Ridge standout played two years with the Sun Devils before leaving the program. This past season, Smith rushed 11 times for 56 yards and caught four passes for 22 yards. In 2017, he played in nine games and had one carry for four yards.

Arkansas was in the market for another running back. Devwah Whaley is a senior while Chase Hayden and Rakeem Boyd are juniors and Jordon Curtis a sophomore. They signed Phenix City (Ala.) Central’s A’Montae Spivey in the Class of 2019.

As a senior, Smith rushed for 2,270 yards with 29 rushing touchdowns while adding 23 receptions for 327 yards and four receiving touchdowns. That followed a junior season when he carried the ball 228 times for 1,807 yards and 17 touchdowns in his first year as the featured back on varsity.

Arkansas now has 28 players in the Class of 2019 leaving one scholarship.
