Arkansas’ Thursday Recruiting Visits

By Otis Kirk

Arkansas coach Chad Morris will have a large number of assistants with him today when he sees former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant.

Bryant chose to redshirt at Clemson this year after playing in four games. He has Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Missouri and North Carolina on his list of possibilities.

Bryant is expected to choose between Auburn and Arkansas. Sources indicate junior Jarrett Stidham quarterback could leave for the 2019 NFL Draft. Morris recruited Bryant to Clemson though he left for SMU before the quarterback arrived. Bryant officially visited Arkansas for the Tulsa game.

In addition to Bryant, Arkansas’ John Chavis will see Dyersburg (Tenn.) High School linebacker Chris Russell today. Russell is committed to Memphis, but has been offered by Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee since  making a pledge to the Tigers.

Steve Caldwell and John Scott Jr. are expected to see Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County defensive end Mataio Soli today. He’s committed to Arkansas. Soli is the son of former Razorback defensive lineman Junior Soli. In 10 games this season, Soli had 84 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 22.5 sacks, four quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and one a fumble recovery. He committed to the Hogs on June 9.
