By Otis Kirk

Arkansas is set to get an official visit from Dodge City (Kan.) Community College linebacker Lakia Henry.

Henry, 6-1, 225, committed to Tennessee on May 20. However, the Razorbacks and others continued to recruit him. The Hogs offered him on Oct. 8.

This season in 10 games, Henry has 77 tackles, 42 unassisted, three tackles for loss and one fumble recovery. He came to Dodge City from Vidalia, Ga.

Henry has approximately 20 offers with half of them coming from SEC schools. In addition to the Hogs and Vols, he holds offers from Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Texas A&M.

He joins a trio of defensive backs on official visits this weekend. The others are Rison’s Malik Chavis (6-2, 175), New Orleans Edna Karr’s Devin Bush (6-0, 180) and Harvey (La.) West Jefferson’s Gregory Brooks Jr. (5-10, 178). All are cornerbacks.

Arkansas has a commitment from one linebacker thus far. Richmond (Texas) Fort Bend Travis’ Zach Zimos (6-4, 215) is committed to the Hogs. They hosted Fullerton (Calif.) College linebacker Caleb Johnson (6-1, 215) for an official visit the weekend of the Tulsa game.

He has also visited Texas and was committed to Iowa State. He will be at Oregon on Nov. 17 for an official visit.

Arkansas is also known to be recruiting Dyersburg (Tenn.) linebacker Chris Russell (6-2, 220). John Chavis went to watch him playing this past Friday.

The Hogs are currently sitting at 23 verbal commitments for 2019. The early signing period is Dec. 19-21.
