In this weeks recruiting report, Richard Davenport of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, discusses three 2019 football prospects and two high school freshman who are getting a lot of attention on the court.
Beaux Limmer is an offensive lineman from Texas who visited The Hill on Saturday.
“He’s got a pretty impressive offer list right now,” says Davenport. “But I think over the next few months you’re gonna see a lot more schools jump on board. I think it’s a good thing that Arkansas is able to get him on campus and be one of the better offers that he has right now. He’s a guy that really enjoyed his time. He called Fayetteville probably the most beautiful place he’s ever been. He enjoyed interacting with the coaching staff. He says he definitely will be back soon. I love this guy, he plays with an attitude and I think that’s what you need on the offensive line.”
Colt Ellison is also from the Lone Star State. He’s a defensive end and one of the top prospects in Texas.
“I think he’s one of the best defensive ends in the country,” says Davenport. “Great burst off the ball, great motor. Very good speed, runs about a 4.6. I think Arkansas’ in great shape with him. He’s a guy that will obviously continue to add offers, but I think getting him on campus early too was a good thing. I know Arkansas’ working hard on him and he’s definitely a priority.”
Joseph Anderson currently has a lot of offers including some elite programs like Alabama and Clemson.
Davenport says the defensive end is an ESPN 300 prospect. “He has a ton of offers, but he really enjoyed Arkansas and he visited the week before also. Just was really impressed with the family atmosphere of the coaching staff. He says he most likely will be in Little Rock for the spring game April the 7th, so definitely improved their chances with that visit, as far as Arkansas.”
Jordan Johnson is a wide receiver in the 2020 class. He recently said that Arkansas is in his top 3.
“He’s a guy that probably will continue to add offers,” says Davenport. “He’s got a very good offer list right now for a sophomore. He had a great time and obviously when you put a school in your top 3, you think very highly of them. He just had a great visit as far as seeing the facilities and interacting with the coaching staff. He has a lot of family in Little Rock, which I think helps. He has some grandparents and several family members.”
Camar Wheaton is currently a freshman running back who visited Arkansas on Saturday.
“Before he got on campus, he had an offer from TCU,” says Davenport. “Arkansas is his second offer. He’s a guy that’s 6’1″ about 190. Ran a 10.8 100 meters already and we’re talking as a freshman. So, he’s an elite prospect right now. And he’s only gonna continue to get more notoriety, but definitely I think it’s gonna pay dividends for Arkansas to offer, be one of his 1st two offers.”
Over on the basketball court, Jalen Ricks and Madison Peaster are two freshman from Arkansas who are beginning to turn heads.
“Jalen’s about a 6’5″ wing who will only get bigger.” says Davenport. “He has a chance to be 6’7″ -6’9″ at some point. And then Madison’s a guy that can play the 1 or the 2. Just has a very high basketball IQ. Both of these guys will play for Joe Johnson Arkansas Hawks this spring and summer. Really looking forward to watching them in the spring and summer.”
