I think your right about not liking the pressure. In the SEC he cant run over everyone and often runs into a few brick walls. Bama was hurting at LB this year or I doubt he even makes the SECCG and the end of year drama is over because he is prolly fired for losing to bama 'again".

As for the second part. I doubt he cares about anyone but himself and maybe Mrs. "gus was like shut up".  So while it appears he may have gotten friends to assist in getting a large raise, To me it simply appears he opened up a bidding war may the richest win.  And all this time people said he didn't/couldn't learn anything from the Nutt.  Seems to me he learned how to use sexton for as much money as he could get no matter who wound up with egg in their face.
I mean if it wasn't about just money, Gus could have dumped Auburn cold, came home, been declared an Arkansas hero for coming to our rescue. And if he produced 10 win seasons within two or three years and top 10 finishes here, would have been CFB all over again coaching until he retired at age.......60? 70?.    No it wasn't about Us, or his friends. Its was simply about money, and he is our enemy forever.

Not really.  The pressure at Arkansas would have been in lots of ways more intense than it is at Auburn.  As it is, when he walks away in a few years, he won’t be sticking it to personal friends.

And I heard after this last fiasco that the gobn would never allow him to be hired by the university in any capacity.  I guess who you believe on this one depends on if you believe Gus's wife's friends or the mysterious and omnipotent good old boys network.

I would like to see the University of Arkansas stop dealing with Jimmy Sexton.

Sexton is one of the biggest problems that college football has, along with the problem of Nick Saban's very close friendship with Mark Emmert, the President of the NCAA.

Our BOT went all in on Gus and got played like a fiddle. And if for some reason Morris can't make it work at Arkansas, that same BOAT will fall all over themselves trying to hire Gus again... And will try to throw the bank to get him. They are that stupid.

They should have a tournament, with betting odds, and put it on pay for view.  A fortune to be made here.

My money would be on Gus.

I don't know why everybody wishes Gus such bad luck. I seriously doubt if anyone of you wouldn't do the  same thing for a few million dollars.

It's not like Arkansas would have paid him peanuts.  If he truly loved Arkansas and wanted to come back, this was his chance.  It's pretty clear that Gus truly loves Gus more than anything else and that's fine as long as he recognizes that he napalmed some bridges here.  Doubt he cares.

I hope they find a way to fire him with no pay after he loses another 4 games next year

I'd rather them be on the hook for the whole sum. What hurts Auburn is good in my book.

Is this the same wife that said Gus would take the Arkansas job after last season? Or does he have two?

I could see him getting axed as crazy as Auburn fans are.

People also need to realize that "guaranteed" and that lucrative Arkansas offer was just Sexton blowing BS to anyone who runs on methane.  It's not surprising the Auburn contract is not 100% guaranteed, because the $50 million deal that was reported by the Hogs was full of schit as well.

As we found out, Gus was more loyal to his bank account than he was to his hypothetical "dream job"  I don't blame him for looking out for his financial gain, but at the same time, he certainly played a lot of people the wrong way. We got the better Coach in Chad Morris.

That would be great if he gets screwed over by the university.

I'd take much more pleasure in Auburn getting screwed with an expensive buyout that hamstrings their ability to hire a top notch coach for years to come.  But I would like to see Auburn to burn to the ground so my opinion might be a little irrational.

If all Gus was looking for was a big pay day, aren’t you glad that he is getting it from Auburn instead of us?  If the guy is looking to retire in four or five years, aren’t you glad he stuck it to Auburn instead of his friends in NWA?

You might want to hold up on that. He represents Morris as well.

This.  When Gus turned us down I was angry and felt played.  In hind sight if he is looking for a big pay day before retirement then AU was the smart move.  If he came here and things didn't go well it would have been difficult for him to live here in retirement.

Gus is always one QB injury away from a bad season. He has trouble finding "his kind of QB" and never seems to find more than one of them at a timme.

That’s what happens when you have to “find them” ready to perform instead of being able to “find them” with the ability to perform and then “developing” them intel they are ready to perform.

Gus has never really mastered the development thing and a demonstrable level. (Cue the reminders of Mustain in high school and the eye roll worthy Cam Newton references.)

Gus' wife supposedly told her friends that if he gets fired they'll come back to Arkansas with all that money and Gus will be an assistant coach somewhere. Gus and Morris are pals. If he gets fired I would not be shocked to see him on Morris' staff, maybe as a consultant.

I at least believe that Kristi is out running her fat mouth trying to convince people that the family Malzahn has the world by the tail... the rest of that, well, I have my doubts.

I have never been a millionaire. I have never had the opportunity to ph_u_ck over my friends for millions of dollars.

I’d like to think, at least, that if I already had millions that I would not roger my friends for a couple million more.

That’s what I’d like to think.
