I've never been, but I've heard by someone who has a couple times, that its best to try to find seats as close to home plate as possible ... the farther out you sit down the lines, the more mouth breathing stupidity you'll encounter ...

Gotcha. I’ll call the ticket office Monday. Hopefully they can get us close to players parents, etc. hopefully behind our bench.

I'd stay away from Baton Rouge altogether.

Never been there for a baseball game, but I have for football. Worst fans ever, hands down

Doesn't that start at the Ark / LA border and get progressively worse as one heads south?   :(

I've been there, sat in the right field seats. It wasn't bad at all. I've been to Alex Box and Tiger Stadium. The baseball fans are much better than their football counterparts.

Alex Box is a great place to take in a series.  I've been several times and never once had a problem.  They have turn back tickets available on the LSU athletics site.  Wait a little closer to the series and you will see great seats available for a very good price.  You can easily get seating where they have to donate at least 10k per year.  The conversations with the fans in those sections is top notch.  They are baseball fans pure and simple.  They want to see great products on the field.  I was sitting back their when Eibner hit the bomb over the scoreboard.  The old men were as excited about seeing that than anything LSU did that weekend.

Just have a good time, accept any whiskey offered, be knowledgeable about the Hogs, and be able to take the occasional ribbing.  It's a great trip.

It has been a couple of years, since I have been, but the AR section was the last section down the 3rd base line, by the foul pole.

Yeah, I sat in that section once.  Strictly bleacher seats and way out there.  You do get a close view of the pitchers warming up in the "bullpen".

Truthfully, it's hard to find bad baseball fans. You'll find them everywhere, of course, but for the most part, baseball fans are good people.

I have roots and friends in LA, so it isn't so bad for me.  But i have to echo that baseball fans are much better, accept a little whiskey and don't be a hard ace and you should be fine.  it will help if we win =)

I was seated a few rows behind the first base dugout one trip and had a young LSU alum sitting next to me.  It's mostly older folks in that section so I expected some mouthing from him but he sits down, turns to me and says, "It's cold, you want some whiskey?"  He had smuggled in 6 flasks.  That was a fun game.

I make the trip every other year. It's a great venue, awesome food and tailgating.

I saw a game at the box last year. Fans were alright. Not as creative as ours. About the only tradition they have is to chant. LSU! LSU! Over and over again. Then they do the Let’s geaux Tigers, clap clap, clapclapclap. It’s a very nice stadium. Wouldn’t trade Baum for it though.
