Razorback Recruiting Spreadsheet (2012-current)
« on: December 31, 2017, 06:51:09 pm »

For anyone interested, I've put a spreadsheet on google docs that breaks down our current recruiting class (signees and commitments), targets, and other recruits of interest.  There are player ratings, a comparison to past classes, and some other interesting stuff.  All the data comes from 247 Sports's composite numbers, so hat tip to them.

Check it out, let me know what you think:

Thank you for this.  Hate to be the spelling nazi but Prospects is misspelled.  This is not very good recruiting by this new coach so far.  This will be an excuse he can use going forward.  “My first recruiting class was 60th in the nation.”

Uh... It's the 2nd best per player rating we have had since 2012, and he's not finished yet. This dude doesn't appear to be about excuses, and if you do not see improvement each year it will show.

It was pretty tough to decide what kind of methodology I would apply to projecting a class that is so uniquely small. Two factors that could cause them to be significantly better than 60th is bringing in close to a full class and maintaining the quality of player they’ve signed to this point.  I guess we’ll see how that shakes out.

Important part missing to fully evaluate a recruiting class.  Did they finish their eligibility at Arkansas?  Did they drop out of school all together?  Did they transfer?   You can ha ve a great class but if only 12 players make it to their JR year it doesn't make for a great class.

Well it looks like we’ll finish anywhere from mid-fifties to mid-eighties depending on how Gerald and Gooden turn out, (not holding breath on either but we’ll see). I still like the class despite the bad ranking; just not enough spots available. There are a few four stars and quite a few high 3 stars in this class based on my spreadsheet (which you can see below).

The class is only ranked so low because we didn't have the usual 25 slots available. We are punished in the overall class ranking because we didn't sign the same number as most other programs.

Agreed. That’s why I meant when I said “just not enough spots available”.

2015 class had 11 Arkansas Kids signed (wow). Average 3.75 stars. Ranked 20.We had 8 4 stars players with only 3 seeing a lot of playing time so far. CCM has some talent that should be hungry to get on the field
