« on: June 13, 2017, 10:48:58 am »

What was Joe's ranking nationally coming out of high school? Also does anybody have his stats from Central? Thanks. Just wanting to compare Perry/Portis/Joe's rankings

Joe averaged about 15 pts a game.  He deferred a lot to Jarret Hart 6-3 guard who put up 20 pts per game.  Hart signed with OU.

He did make the Mc game so he had to be top 30.

It look like Joe was top 25 player. Joe did not make McDonald AA game but did make the Jordan Classic game.

He was so talented and head and shoulders above the competition when he played in HS. Looked like most of the time he was propping up his teammates instead of trying to score 30 every game.

source- watched him play a few times

Joe is going to go down as the greatest player to come out of high school that year.

I played against him. He was a freak of nature. I played against and with some good players and you were always aware how good they were on the court. It elevated your game. It wasn't like that with Joe. Joe was so smooth it was depressing. There was literally nothing you could do to stop him and he looked like he wasn't even going 50%.

How many guys on that Central team went d-1.  I think if you include the guys who were a year behind Joe it was like 6 or 7.  They were loaded

That team was unstoppable. Not getting beat by 20 points was a victory for most teams against that talent.

I played 3 years against that Central team.  They were loaded.  I think their top 7 went to play D-2 ball or higher.  Joe didn't need to do much on that team because they rolled everyone.  He was my assignment on man to man coverage.  Yeah it ended about like you would think.

I am pretty sure they didn't lose a game that year.  The following year they were dethroned by J.A. fair led by the Adams boy that went to ASU.

Just shy of $200M.
2nd place?
Torii Hunter - just a few bucks shy of $170M.

Presuming he plays out his contract, though, Mike Conley will come close;  he has $127M pending and $82M in career earnings.

If Joe retires tomorrow, and Mike gets his full contract, he would pass Joe.

Last I spoke to him he was playing in Europe but also had a construction/contractor business here in Little Rock, granted it's been a minute since then...

The last I know of him playing was for AEK Larnaca in 2012-2013;  that's Cyprus, A-Division.  Not a Top 10 international league-- arguably not a Top 25 international league.

If he plays next year, he will have earned roughly $214mm in his career. With his body and style of play, I wouldn't be surprised if he played another couple of years after that.

AJ Burnett made $190mm.

Torii Hunter made $172.5mm.

Cliff Lee made $143.7mm.

Scottie Pippen $109mm.

Not sure if we count Jason Peters, but he will have earned $108mm through his current deal.

Any others I'm not thinking about that would have topped $100mm?

None of these figures include endorsement or other income. Strictly on-the-field/court income.

Burnett is weird;    Spotrac and Baseball Reference have his salaries as identical, but one cites $144M vs $190M.

They lost to NLR at NLR and to Peoria, Il at the King Cotton Classic.

Ive know JJ since he was at Dunbar.  My brother played AAU ball with him for years.

I watched that game at the KCC, I used to go to all of the KCC tournaments, there was some major talent th a t came through there.  One of the best games I enjoyed watching was when Corliss played against Kidd in the championship game and it went down to the wire, Corliss won the game for Russellville, they list it in the championship game the following year when Corliss missed a last second shot that would have won the game for Russellville.

i'm going to tell you how good that 1999 central team ended up being

their BACKUP point guard, Tavarius not going to even try to spell his last name lol, is third all time in three pointers made in Division 2 history he played at University of Montecillo. The backup point guard lol.  he was a beast tho.

Joe was ranked in the low thirtes or extremely high twenty, but a lot of the reason he was ranked that low was because it was a question on if he was going to be eligiable. really only syracuse was really half ass interested in him besides us.

jared hard was ranked exactly like 75th in the country. Dude had game. Joe was just so smooth. the only team that really could give them run in arkansas was NLR and in the championship game joe took over the last quarter and put it in ice he had this little behind the back jab step he did that made someone fall down and he pulled up from like 25ft and it didn't hit rim i knew then dude had nba game.
