Well its spring again--Official Turkey Season thread 2017
« on: March 09, 2017, 09:42:35 pm »

Went out on Wednesday morning at my deer lease....was a nice and cool 35 degrees but the birds were hammering for about an hour. I woke up late but was out there by 6:45 and they gobbled pretty steady until around 7:30. After they flew off the roost they got quiet. May be just a tad early yet for them to be on the prowl.

Havent been on national forest land yet, will look to do that next weekend (gotta work this weekend).

Anyone else hearing birds??

birds are talking on and off, still a little early. Im headed to Mississippi later in the week to see what I can round up. Good luck to everyone.

I was as against them moving the season to late April as much as anyone, but it has absolutely done what they wanted it to do. There are more turkeys in Arkansas than there has been in my lifetime. For once, the AGFC has done something right...
