Google chrome
« on: January 05, 2017, 08:04:01 pm »

I have google chrome at my workplace and it works fine. However when I downloaded it at home so I could add Chromecast, it reverted to an older version of chrome.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and it happen both times.

What to do, what to do?

Silly question but I have to ask it....

What kind of computer (workstation) are you using at both locations?

It goes to chromium browser. The icon is completely different than chrome.  At this time Google Chrome is not even on my PC according to Programs and Features.

That is officially weird.

I have two different workstations at work.  One running Windows 10, the other Windows 7.something.  They have different versions of Chrome - which I would expect due to the different OS.  Thought that might be a possibility.

Sorry I wasn't of more help here HenduHog.

One last thought - on the computer running the more current version of Chrome, can you download the more current version of Chrome (the set up files anyway) to a jump drive, then bring that jump drive home and try to start the install process from the jump drive - trying to force the newer version to install?

Might , not sure.  Prolly a better idea, since our tech dept. has to install all programs is just get one from them.

Thanks for the idea. Worth a shot.
