IF we can come out of this weekend tied with Florida we have a real shot at finishing in 4th place. We finish at Georgia and Florida finishes with Auburn.

Some REALLY IMPORTANT games next weekend and the schedule is unkind to a couple of teams. Bama finishes with Vandy(terrible for Bama's chances), Mississippi State and Tenneessee battle for a shot at making the tournament and Georgia meets Arkansas for their shot at the tournament.
Carolina could fall hard with LSU coming to town, Kentucky and Missouri square off for possibly the 5th seed and ATM travels to Ole Miss with 3rd place on the line.

IMO: NCAAT bids
LSU and A&M will get a National Seed.

Florida and Vandy = whoever does the best next weekend will get a National Seed, they both deserve one.

ARK = pretty much out of all of the talk of being a 1 seed. If the weather lets us play again, we should finish #5 overall in SEC. Even if Auburn helps us out against Florida and we win the rest of our games, I think they still get the 1 seed over us. RPI has become a real drag down for us, but SEC record and overall record will get us in the NCAAT. Finishing 5th in SEC will get us a 2 seed in NCAAT.

Missouri = is falling into the place where most thought they would be, which is hanging onto a bid to NCAAT. They are 4 games over .500 with 4 to play. Kentucky could put them in a position where they must win more than 1 game in SECT to even qualify for NCAAT (by sweeping them). They need to win 1 of their last 4 games (1 vs LSU and 3 vs Kentucky) so they can lose the first SECT game and still be NCAAT eligible. MU is 2-9 in their last 11.

Ole Miss= playing Missouri and MSU is exactly what they needed as they have won 4 in a row. Their RPI of 33 helps, but they have to win a game against A&M or a midweek game against Arkansas St to stay eligible for NCAAT (since they are also just 4 games over .500 overall) or make up the difference in the SECT. Depending on how the last 4 games turn out, they too may have to go deep in SECT to stay eligible for NCAAT.

Kentucky = pretty much in the same boat as Missouri. After winning 6 in a row including winning the series against Florida, they have cooled dramatically by going 2-6 in their last 8. Their RPI of #51 is no help and they play Missouri next weekend which could end up - winner goes and loser stays home for the NCAAT (when it's all done). Kentucky is 5 games over .500 overall with 4 to play, so if they lose all 4 they cannot lose their first SECT game or they will not be eligible for NCAAT.

Auburn = very interesting position they are in. Impressive RPI of #26 and 13 games over .500 overall, BUT in 9th place (ouch) in the SEC. They are 2 games under .500 in SEC and falling 4 games under will make the committee frown (big time), but if they can win Sunday against Bama instead if getting swept (they lost the first 2) they should survive a sweep by Florida next weekend and still make the NCAAT if they can win 1 in the SECT. Auburn went 11-2 before the talk about being a 1 seed started coming around and then they went up against instate rival, Alabama and lost the first 2 games. Now they need to right the ship quickly or they could find themselves 6 games under .500 by the end of the Florida series and heading into SECT play. If you are not a Auburn fan, you can laugh now.

USCe = At 7 games over .500 overall (29-22), but 4 games under .500 SEC (11-15) and RPI of #68 and 1 game against A&M and 3 games against LSU left, they are in real trouble. The mid-week game against RPI #253 Upstate is no help. It's play great ball this week or go home for USCe.

Alabama =  being 6 games under .500 in SEC, mid 50's RPI and only 3 games over .500 overall, they have to WIN games against Auburn (1 left) and Vandy (3 to go) or there is no post season. Alabama is locked into the SECT (even if they lose all the regular season games they have left) and they can make up some ground there (just like everyone else), but they cannot play .500 ball like Ole Miss, Missouri and Kentucky can because of their SEC record and RPI.

Georgia (23-26), Tennessee (20-24) and MSU (24-27) are not technically out of NCAAT play yet because they can still make it to 1 game over .500 overall, but 8-17, 8-17 and 8-19 in SEC play will not get you to the NCAAT. The 3 are fighting it out for a SECT invite and the 2 that make it must win the SECT or they are DONE.

It's possible (not likely) the SEC could end up with only 6 teams in the NCAAT, but 8 or 9 is more likely. I don't see 10 this year. The SEC may have the most 3 seeds we have ever seen.

NOTE: SECT games do count towards the overall W/L record for the season.

Come on Kevin, we are not going to lose every game, but I'll be sick for a year if they catch us because we don't get to play this weekend.

I'm not to worried about Ole Miss even though they have won 4 in a row, it was against MSU and Missouri. Before that they were playing .500 ball. They only have 3 games left and that is against A&M. We have 5 against Tennessee and Georgia.

Auburn had me worried, but good thing they lost 2 to Bama. Now, if we win 1 today and they lose, they can't catch us anymore.

Kevin

I am not sYing we Re going to lose, just like them to lose. Always want a cushion.

Ark, it is time to start looking from an overall perspective.
I like your format, wish I could put this into an Excel spreadsheet and import keeping the Excel format. The columns would all line up and be much easier to read!

We really need to get both games in today and WIN both!

#Alabama swept #Auburn this weekend, winning the series finale 14-4. #AU is now 12-15 with a series at #UF on the way. Uh oh

Auburn is in trouble now, even with a 32-20 overall record and #30 RPI.

Updated to include Sunday's games. Florida deserves to be the 4th team, going to Vandy and taking 2 of 3 showed some grit!
Aubbie is falling like a rock along with Kentucky and Missouri.
