Looking at the defense, it could be salty next year and real salty the following year.

ChicoHog

Not many seniors next year and even less of the so called "strong contributors".  2016 should be very good if we keep recruiting and developing.

Isn't there a possibility Kirkland moves to tackle? Would be a good move IMO.

Pretty sure BB said they were. Believe they told him tackles make more money in the NFL to convince him.

I think we need to be carrying 2-3 more OG's and 2-3 more OT's. Ideal range as a total should be about 15-18 O-Linemen.

Yep, we got way too many D-linemen and not enough O-linemen.  And it looks like it'll be that way for a few years.

Agree we need at least 15 offensive linemen.  It's why I wonder if we plan to sign another OL in addition to Weathersby.

Our finish would probably look like this for the last 6 spots if that's the case:
2 OL
1 DL
1 LB
2 DB

Weathersby and Powell/Dowdy. Hopefully...

It feels unbelievable to say this, but, I think we look pretty darn good at CB. Still be nice to add another corner though.

Bad News Boar

I am nervous about running back in 2016. With J-will and Kody Walker being Sr's, and Collins being a draft eligible Jr, we could get real thin real quick. I do not doubt that they will recruit more players blah blah... but there will not be much experience. Hopefully a guy like Juan Day will be a big surprise and carry the load in 2016. Coach B and co. have been positive about him.

ldfergu

I think with the OLine we are building we could put pretty much anyone back there. Don't worry

Youngsta71701

We need another guard, another tackle, and another cornerback then we'll have good depth at each position.

How about move Ragnow to Guard and Kirkland to Tackle.  Ragnow backup Smoothers CYA.  I know it would put the C spot thin unless you can find someone besides Rogers to back up Center when games are out of hand but I think you get the best on the field.

Allen can back up both guard and center, and Wallace will push for time at tackle.

Updated.

Removed Hill. Hopefully he'll be back on the list.

Updated to show TJ Smith.

Class is getting better by the day. Very solid.

2016 is our swing for the fence year where we go after another Collins level RB.

Possibly.

But Wise, Winston, and Dean can all play inside.

Notice he says your boy instead of "our coach". Very telling.

I'm not worried. If he recruits like he did here Louisville will fire him in about 5 years.

Not enough to burn his rs

One play burns your RS.

Now, he can still get one for medical reasons, but as on now he will be a SO. next year.

Austin Beck is a guard.

Bio lists him as a T. I'm aware he's played G in mop up duty.

But let's be honest. It doesn't matter. He'll play his final year with minimal PT.

Should we be concerned with the OL to DL ratio? I'm not sure what the ideal numbers are.

Nah, we are starting phis out some bad recruiting tactics.  Petrino's one good recruiting was stacking Dlineman with tall rangy length.  I'm not sure of the numbers but Dline was one that was OK when Bielema took over.  We were real thin on the Oline.  These will even out over the next recruiting class or two.

Not concerned, but it will balance out over the next class or two.

Transferred to SELA

Thanks. I definitely missed that somehow. How long ago did that happen?

FANONTHEHILL

As far as positions on the OL go, look for familiar names in new places. I think there will be lots of position shuffling.

Boyd and Ward, possibly.

I'm not sure who else we could shuffle. Loewen maybe. He played some tight end early on.

But yeah, it'd be nice. Gives us the ability to redshirt some of the incoming freshmen OL.

Jared Collins' name is spelled "Jard" on the list. Just sayin. Feel free to delete this ;)

tophawg19

to many DE's And DL. To few OL  is correct . no need for 11 DE's unless some are left over and not expected to play .with the o-line injuries could really hurt . we need 2 more and should have at least 16 minimum at all times

I think he was saying look for Kirkland to possibly move to tackle and Ragnow to guard.  Familiar names, new places.

unless some corners can play safety , we are to short there . Santos hopefully can fill one spot
