Sad news. Prayers for my wife and her side of the family.

My wife and son decided to go to her parents yesterday for Thanksgiving.  Her dad has been in bad health.

Just got off the phone with her.  Jennings (her dad) just passed at 3 p.m.

I needed to stay here, close to my mom, as she too, is in bad health.

Headed to Florida to be with them in the morning. 

Even with this news, he died having lived a long, entertaining and useful life.

Thank you for your prayers.

I would rather live as if there is a God and find out there isn't, than to live as if there isn't and find out there is.

We knew it was coming.  I should have gone with her.  However, we both knew this may well be my mother's last Thanksgiving also.

Getting old is no fun.

Thank you for the prayers.

So glad your wife and son got down to be with her Dad.
And sounds like you needed to be with your Mother.
Every Holiday with your parents is a blessing and not to be taken for granted.

I totally agree. Since losing my mom way back in 1999 the holidays just haven't felt the same. Even though I still have my dad at 94 we still feel a tremendous void. I can tell you and her that the only thing that can help in some small way is time. While the passage of days obviously can't erase the loss, at least it can make things more tolerable. Try to remember all those wonderful times together 'cause they're the glue that help hold us as families together over the years.

God's blessings on you and yours. Have a safe trip down and back.

So sorry to hear.., I kind of thought we might be going through the same thing with my father-in-law as well.  He's better one day, then about to pass the next.  Tough on all.  My prayers to your family.

Prayers to you and your family, Been through it with both my parents and my wife's.  Miss them and think of them every day but I rejoice in knowing they are with their Lord and Savior. 

I'll say an extra Woo Pig for you tomorrow so don't you worry about them Razorbacks, give your family all the attention they need.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I, too, had to make a choice this Thanksgiving about what side of the family to visit, due to certain family members being in bad health...

Thank all of you for the prayers and well wishes.

Rebecca (my wife) called early this morning to let me know she is coming home today.  Since it's only a 2 1/2 hour drive she wants me to wait for her here and we will help make final arrangements for her dad together.

Probably will head back to Marianna, Fl., Sunday morning. 

Her mother is surrounded with relatives and is staying pretty strong thus far.

Again Hogville members, thank you for your prayers.

I expect Rebecca home around 2 o'clock.
