Before the season started, ESPN released the odds that each SEC team would win their division. Here are the percent chances they gave each team:

Alabama  -       38.0

South Carolina  37.9

Georgia            37.5

Auburn             26.7

Florida              16.3

Texas A&M          9.5

Mississippi State  9.7

LSU                    9.5

Ole Miss              6.5

Missouri              7.1

Kentucky            0.09

Tennessee          0.1

Vanderbilt           0.02

Arkansas            0.01

Notables:

Vandy had a better chance of winning the East than we had at the West.

Ole Miss, who we demolished, had a 650x better shot at winning the West

MSST, coming off a 7 win season had a 970x better shot

Alabama, who, by the grace of God, beat us by 1 point, had a 3800x better shot than us to win the West.

LSU, who we blanked, had a 970x better shot than us to win it.

After giving several top teams their best game of the year, and finally breaking through the door with two dominating victories, we are being talked about as a team that will contend for the SEC title next year. We are being talked about in the same breath with the Georgias, Auburns and Alabamas.

We have come a long way folks, and the ride is just beginning. Buckle in.

You are right in that we haven't arrived yet.  We have come a long way, and we are on the right track, but our offense has to get WAY better in order for us to challenge for a conference championship.  Our O-Line in particular has to improve their overall play.

No way ESPN or anyone could have predicted the raise of the Robb.

Given the state of the East vs West, I bet the odds makers would still give Vandy a better chance.
