While South Carolina hasn't been a team that could afford to overlook anybody this year, the win at Florida restored hope that the Gamecocks can salvage a pretty decent season. That would all disappear – again – if they somehow let South Alabama win this game.

Steve Spurrier got a head start on his favorite hobby — trolling Clemson — in an on-field interview immediately after the Florida game, noting casually, "I guess the upstate team got beat today," in reference to the Tigers' loss to Georgia Tech. Prediction: South Carolina 21, South Alabama 17.
