Imagine the bowl committee trying to push and advertise that one though

Might be pretty entertaining

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

I'm kinda hoping for the Independence Bowl. Yes I'm being all about me right now. I'm a 90 minute drive from Shreveport.

Few of us will carpool if we make it there.

Hell, I dont know of many who WOULD complain about the I-Bowl. Especially after the last two seasons.

But I am with you, I sure would not complain one bit about going to the I-Bowl. Straight shot down 49.

Come watch Tretola evolve as a passer in the Birmingham Bowl!  Ha!

Some of the other matchups are head scratchers too. They have a potential 10-2 Georgia in the Peach while a 4 or 5 loss LSU plays in the Outback.

The Peach Bowl is much higher in the pecking order;  every third year, it will be a National Semi-final.

Instead, you are looking at one SEC team in the playoff  (the Sugar Bowl is one of the semi-finals);  beyond the Top 4, the CFB playoff committee selects the remaining 7 or 8 teams (the best non P-5 Champ gets a bid here, if not in the playoffs-  if in,  then the committee picks) for the other top 6 bowls.

Georgia is definitely in that group, as is Mississippi State..  They're probably in that group, even if they lost the SEC-CG.  They're about guaranteed  that group, if they don't qualify for the SEC-CG.

Only after that, do the other tie-ins come;  the Capital One Bowl goes next, then the Outback.

Georgia as the SEC's 3rd team, and LSU as the 5th isn't far fetched at all.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

That have LSU as the #3 team from the SEC, Florida as the #5, and Mizzery as #2.

Uh- no.

That has Alabama 1,  MSU 2 , Georgia 3,  Ole Miss 4,  Missouri 5 ,  LSU 6.

Arkansas vs Texas in Houston.  Even if I couldn't afford tickets I'd still try to tailgate some.  One step closer to actually getting to see the hogs in person.

I'm in Chicago and was listenning to a local sports radio show this morning FM 87.7 and they were talking about Big 10 bowl destinations.  They seem to think Minnesota, Maryland or Iowa is going to the Gator Bowl to play Tennessee, Florida or Arkansas.

Is it just me or are there more and more crappy bowls popping up every year? I swear I've never even heard of a bunch of those.

This is why I hope we get a bid to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte.

If we go East, I'd rather have Birmingham or the Gator.

There are 5 new bowls this year;  this is the first bowl expansion in 4 years.

You mean the Taxslayer Bowl?  ::)

(These bowls are getting out of hand - they have no identity any more.)

Yea, that's it.  ...or the Peach.  We've never gone there.

hogcard1964

This may be extremely premature and sounds a bit crazy now but consider it.  If we win out (a slim possiblity), and Wisconson drops one of their last two, (at Iowa and at home vs. Minnesota), we could meet them in the Outback.

The Capital One Bowl is now the Citrus Bowl again and the Chickfila Bowl is the Peach Bowl again.

Even winning out, we're not jumping that far ahead in the SEC Bowl pecking order.

Won't happen. There is going to be a big push to put A&M against Texas in that game

I'm in metro Atlanta, Birmingham or Jacksonville would be good for us, heck any bowl will be great this year:

Probably

Wishful thinking on my part.

I know this stuff is totally useless, but I hate bowl projections.

HoginHouston

If we win out, we would have finished with three straight wins against top 20 teams. Considering the buzz we've had all year even as a 0-conference-win team, I wouldn't be surprised to see us move up to something like the Taxslayer/Gator.

Think something like:

Playoff: Alabama/Miss State

Sugar: Georgia

Citrus: Ole Miss

Outback: Auburn

Peach: LSU

Gator: Arkansas

Music City: Missouri

Delk: Tennessee

Texas: Texas A and M

Go Hogs Go.

I just want a bowl win.  Don't care where.  Don't care who.  Just get to a bowl and win it.

jimmiewkersh

The only positive I see in the Birmingham bowl is an additional week of practices.  The more practice time we can get in, the better for next year.

HOGINTENNESSEE

I'll take it. We need all the help we can get. Our bowl record is terrible

LAHog124

Considering I live 15 minutes from the I-bowl it would be perfect for me, but thats just me being selfish I would seriously love any bowl.

When will Arkansans ever get over Texas . . .
Leave it where it belongs . . . IN THE PAST!
