"We are struggling (on defense) but then again we have been even or ahead in the fourth quarter of these (last) three losses," Spurrier said. "If the offense had continued playing at a high level, we'd have one or two more wins, maybe three more, who knows?"

South Carolina plays Tennessee (3-5) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Williams-Brice Stadium.

"We need to play better than we have been playing," Spurrier said.
