There is more to this thread than the title suggests but I want to throw in a little more information.
From 2010 through 2014 I compared the average national recruiting ratings using Rivals for the SEC.

Alabama-1.8
Fla-------5.8
LSU------7.6
Auburn---7.6
Ga-------10.2
Tenn-----13
A&M------15.2
SC--------18.6
Ole Miss--20
Ark-------32.6
M State---35
Mizzou----35
Kentucky--44
Vandy-----45

While our recruiting numbers are similar, the players aren't.  MS is playing many more upper classmen and their QB has been mentioned for the Heisman. He was a 3* and Allen a 4*

Addendum: 10-21-14
I went back and looked the two deep in offense and defense. Freshmen and sophomores

Arkansas-- 11 freshmen   16 sophomores

MS--------- 1- RS freshman   13 sophomores

I counted 24 SR and Jrs in our 2 deep (including the special teams), of those 8 were recruited by CBB. So 16 have been here since BP. 8 JRs 8 SRs.

MSU has 33.

One coach for those 33, which means consistency and development.

Three coaches for our 16 with 2 different styles.

How did CBB recruit those 8 players who are JRs or SRs this year?
If gun control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome. http://heyjackass.com/

It isn't all about the stars, you have to coach them.
Of the three team likely to miss bowl games for the 2nd year in a row, we have the least amount of talent.

I looked at this information again. As fans we need to be patient. Look at the underclassmen in my revised OP. These kids played their hearts out in couple of games and got down after being kicked by Ga but they came back. Young kids haven't developed the necessary mental toughness yet. They will. We're still building.
