Just curious if he will be punished further? (By the NCAA) I have seen other players suspended for the next game in college after a targeting call & ejection. I think we all know he wasn't being malicious with the hit. But if he did make contact with his hands/forearms/crown of the helmet to his face mask/helmet the call was legit.

Can you give an example of a player being ejected and then missing the entire next game for targeting?

Pretty sure If you're ejected for targeting you miss the next half, so he served that during the game if it occurred in the 2nd half you sit out the first half next game.

Targeting is a 1 game suspension. Braylon had to sit out the second half of the Georgia game and will sit out the first half of the next game.

That was actually one positive from the game.

Unless I missed something, he waited for the verdict and calmly left the field without throwing a fit, and he obviously didn't do it on purpose.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Players penalized for targeting must sit out the rest of the half and the next half, whether it's the second half of the current game or the first half of the next game. He will be able to play the whole UAB game since it was in the first half.

It was a wrong call, no matter how you look at it. Qb held the ball long enough to pose a threat to run. Shouldn't have been bailed out by another horrible call by a ref. two game changing calls in this weeks game alone. Horrible!
I have 10 to 12 points to make per game.

So, if YOU don't know the rule, it is a horrible call.

He will be back for the UAB game. The rule on targeting is that if you are ejected in the 2nd half you sit out the first half of the next game. Since he was ejected in the 1st half there is no further penalty

It was the correct call.  Helmet to Helmet contact will get that call every time.  You need to do more research before calling it horrible.

The link in the OP is the rule... Just FYI

GolfnHog

•A ball carrier already in the grasp of an opponent and whose forward progress has been stopped.

If this is part of the "targeting" rule then why wasn't this called a couple of times last weekend when the Hog runners were continually thrown around after forward progress was stopped and the whistles had clearly been blown to stop play.

On one particular play JWill was literally picked up off the ground to be body slammed but the only reason it didn't happen was that one of the OLmen was pushed into the guy about to do the body slamming.

If it is a rule of "intent" then that play in particular should have resulted in a personal foul.
Have you ever listened to someone  or read what they put into thoughts and wondered...."who ties your shoelaces for you?"
