We've got to extend the field against the better teams.

Yes, rematch the game......but I agree we need a few more shots down the field to back up the safeties. Bama did play two deep most of the game, so it wasn't as evident this game, but we need to get Sprinkle on a LB down the seam.

The problem right now is no one is afraid of any Hog WR. Like was pointed out above, Bama played 2 deep alot, but even in the 1st half when they were still blitzing alot, the WR's, as usual, had a hard time getting open (yes KH was open on a cross on a ball BA threw deep) CONSISTENTLY.

Derby had a 54 yarder not 3 days ago.

It was about a 7 yard cross, and then he, a linebacker converted to qb, then converted to te, is the 1st hog to catch a ball and then run away from the defense all season.

I think you're missing the point. That was all YAC. We can't effectively throw the ball down the field more than 10-15 yards.

yet it happens. Hunter had a 14 yarder on 3rd and 12 that he caught and was immediately tackled.

The answer is: we can do it, but not very consistently.we need a successful flea-flicker, halfback pass, or other gimmick pass  to really get textbook separation.  We don't usually get great separation and a great throw on regular drop back or running passes (bootlegs or sprint outs). If we could, we'd be undefeated right now.

If we can't start completing 20, 30, 40 yard passes the results will be the same. We will continue to lose if we don't extend the field and back the secondary off the line a bit. You're probably delusional if you think we can run all the time on the likes of Alabama, ole miss, miss state etc. It won't happen. Must have an elevated passing game.
