Is anyone else (over 30 yrs old) irritated by the extremely loud bass from the north end zone speakers several times during the game. Same for the loud music. I am sure the students like this but they are not in the majority.

I would like to see a poll by the athletic dept. on entertainment at the game. The band has been great this year.

AllHog90

That music made the atmosphere the other night. It was also clear our players were feeding off of it. Loved it. So did my 50+ year old dad.

Some people complain about ANYTHING. Geez.

Stadium atmosphere was the best it has been in years. The loud music is a huge part of that. Players and fans alike feed off of that. The cohesion between the music and the band is great. We were actually behind the times compared to many stadiums when it comes to piped in music. I love it....and I'm quite a bit past 30 years old.

Yep, great atmosphere, next thing you know someone will ask for the fans to remain seated.....

I think the music is cool, but, If you're standing just outside of the North End zone holding a camera, the speakers are so loud that it's physically painful. Not just for your ears, most of us are wearing plugs out there now, but the bass shakes your whole body. And it really hurts.

lstewart

I have no problem with the music, but they have had some sound system issues this season. It was better for the Bama game, but still some instances of "Bass Gone Wild". I don't know if their mix is bad, have a subwhoofer issue, or something, but at times there bass is very loud and distorted. It was horrible for the first couple of games... like half the stadium speakers were blown out and just distorting the bass track. Better for Bama, but it did get a little out of phase a couple of times. Frist two games sounded like my old 1973 Cougar with one of the door speakers blown out, but we still cranking up the Beatles.

The sound system has been bad since it was replaced when Razorback Stadium was expanded.

The speakers sound muddy. Admittedly my ears are blown out from too much noise over the years but I can still tell a good set of speakers from bad ones.

Torqued pork

No big deal. Loss of hearing is mother nature's remedy for extremely loud noise exposure.

I agree. The distortion is evident in the south end.....must be terrible in the north end. They need some Klipsch.

Piglet Dispersion Syndrome

I was on the lower west side sec 105 and to me it was not too loud. I actually remember thinking at one point that I wish the music was just a bit louder to be honest. It was about right to me, but then again I wasn't in the north end zone.

RazorPiggie

The atmosphere Saturday was awesome especially since it was a raining/cool night game. No complaints from our group.

Oh and Section 102 only sat down during Timeouts and halftime. I don't think anyone in the section was seated during a play.

Loud music is fine and to be expected and desirable.....................constant "bass booms" is not loud music.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

I don't remember any false starts by Bama. Watching on TV it seemed like the normal RRS crowd from a noise standpoint but I couldn't tell much about the sound system or music.

Turn your TV up, or go to the games to get the true experience to comment on.

Only on first and second down.

Those speakers cost us the game, that's what caused Kody Walker to fumble the pass thru the end-zone and all those dropped interceptions along with the missed field goal and blocked PAT. ;)

You would be correct. I wasn't there Saturday to watch Bielema and Chaney throw another win away.

Then my 58yro ears are better than your obviously younger ears.   All three of this years home games have had sound issues with the booming bass.  Each game has gotten better, sound quality wise, but there is still an obvious 'booming' sound at times.  As someone lese mentioned it sounds like a blown subwoofer.

Maybe the ones that don't hear the booming bass sit in the upper decks but it is definitely there if you sit in the lower sections.

This is it.  I consider the noise coming out of the north end zone speakers to be distorted at times, others consider it to be 'volume' ... and then there's the guy who doesn't hear it because he's watching the game.

I've sat in the upper deck, lower eastside and westside. I agree the speakers are bad up top, lower section is ok. With DJ Dean returning kicks, why not crank "go DJ" again? Worked well with Dennis Johnson. Need something before kickoffs. I think the atmosphere was good.

Speakers are out of sync with the band, and that can be easily fixed. I am GLAD they have the band miked up.

The music was loud, but the bigger problem was the inconsistency of volume level. That should be tweaked during the week of the game - what needs to be adjusted up/down to blend.

The music was used effectively - it shut down the Bama band. If I have to listen to a visiting band let it be UGA or Bama, but I'd rather listen to our band.

BTW, I thought the cheer squads and band were primed for the big game and did not disappoint. Band sound is the best it has been in two decades.

The problem is we only have 6 home (RRS) games and we are already half way through that schedule.  The sound for the Bama game was better than the other two but how long is it going to take?

and as already mentioned in another thread, the band has been the best this year than any other time I can remember.
