I spent a week in Auburn before the game. I never ran into anyone like you. People were helpful and friendly. No popping off. No "friendly" advice. Just the kind of people you like to sit down and talk to.

For whatever reason message boards attract the goobers. You are one of them. The typical Auburn fan I met last week would be embarrassed that one of their own felt the need to come on a Razorback message board and do what you're doing.

Go find a Bama board. They'd love to see you.

Mike, did you get the feeling Chaney gave you his honest opinion of te matter, that it did not really effect them?  I got to believe him not having a live communication session with Brandon, Pittman, and others that it did change some things.  I got to believe Bielema said a few cuss words when he found out.  Now, this is not what we will see in the interviews though.  I got to think publicly this staff handled it nicer than the previous would have.

Of course they're not going to complain. Makes them look like whiners.
My guess is they will address the problem with the SEC office (which will probably get them nowhere.)

Auburn comes to Fayetteville next year. Just sayin.

I don't get the feeling we would return the favor though.

Some Exlax smoothies would be nice to welcome the team to Fayetteville  ;D

According to tweets by Tom Murphy of the ADG and Mike Irwin, the coaches who were up in the booth were stuck in an elevator at half time and did not make it to the locker room.   How does something like that happen in an SEC stadium?

It must have been the coaches that failed to make any changes at half time or motivate the players to PLAY ANOTHER HALF.  Auburn made changes and won the game.
Life took me to Central Florida, but I'll always be a Razorback.

Question.... How did the Auburn staff get down?

They and most opposing coaches use the stairs from what I hear.
When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you.

Mike, do you think this is the reason there was no live interview with BB coming out of the half?

They got Gus going in for the half, but coming out they normally get the other coach and all the SEC Network had was a recap of what he said and not a live interview.

There are two elevators. Clearly Auburn's coaches used the one that worked.

Auburn's coaches are on the south end of the press box . Their dressing room is just off the SE corner of the field. They used the south elevator.

The visiting coaches are on the north side of the press box. They use the north elevator.
However there is an additional problem. The visiting locker-room is on the northeast side of the stadium. So once they reach the field opposing coaches have to cross it, go through the tunnel and back toward the west to reach their locker-room.

In Fayetteville the visiting locker-room is maybe 75 feet from the elevator. At Auburn it's more like 100 yards.

I doubt it. Bielema wasn't affected by the elevator problem.

They have started going with the sideline reporter doing a recap of what the coach trailing at half time said more often.

One exception was the SC game where they interviewed the Ball Coach instead of Sumlin going into the half.  I think they had Sumlin's comments replayed starting the second half as his team was winning.

Just seemed out of sequence.  I appreciate his being subdued on the matter.

Better listen a little closer, stairs and long walk after you get down take between 8 to 10 minutes each way. That pretty much uses up the 20 minute halftime.

Have opposing coaches ever had a problem like this before?  Not being able to make the locker room for halftime?

If the answer is Yes, we should have done our homework, and had a backup plan.

If the answer is No, they'll be here next year, and if we don't return the favor ten-fold, we'll maybe we truly aren't cut out for this league.

Truth hurts.
Are you really this pathetic? Why do you not find a Auburn board? Serious question.

As someone that was in the press box last year (same level as where the coaches sit), I can state that it's at least 6 "stories" down to the main concourse. Plus 1-2 stories more after that to get to the locker room level. Plus a walk around 1/4th of the stadium.

Since halftime is only 20ish minutes, you would spend about 7-8 or so minutes trying to get from the coaches box down to the locker room (via stairs). Then you have to hoof it right back. That elevator saves a LOT of time.

This is a fact I experience even in some HS stadium's
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Copied from someone at AU who would know.

The AU pressbox is at the top of the lower level.  The opposing coaches always walk a flight of stairs down and are escorted down through the section 1-2 lower level stairs (~57 stairs/rows), directly to the field where they walk across and into the locker room.
I've seen this every game for years because my tickets are in section 2.

The AU coaches do the same thing, except go through section 10-11.
The locker room is not underground nor is it two more stories down as someone said.  It's the same level as the football field.

All of the whining makes our fanbase appear silly.

Then how bad are you to get beat by a high school coach?  What level would that make the University of Arkansas exactly...YMCA Pee Wee League?

Let's be real here, you have better players (at this point).  You do not have better coaches, you do not have a better stadium, you do not have a better level of maturity, you damn sure don't have a better message board.

What you do have though, is an innate ability to miss the entire point of thread, so you have that going for you.

Makes us look silly, uh ok!  So why do they have elevators since it's no big deal for opposing coaches to go down stairs, then through the a stadium section where crowd that's heading to concession stands, then across the field, then back track down the hall to the locker room which is on the side that the elevator is on?  Optional ofcourse is take the elevator down, walk down the hall to the locker room.  Caveat, if the elevator gets stuck, wait for 5-10 minutes then go back to option A.

It's absolutely ridiculous to even suggest having  opposing coaches ever walk thru a crowd at halftime, that's as high school as high school gets and they should be ashamed at their pathetic stadium.  They look stupid not Arkansas, for the love of god.

For a school that prides itself on being one of the very best engineering schools in the country, you gotta wonder why the hell they can't manage to take care of their clock issues.  It's a regular problem over there - now the elevator mishap - and that horrid sound system????  Do they not have any money left from the '10 & '13 SEC championship & BCSNC games.

I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully. I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men. I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities. I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all. I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.
