The Samford football team will kick off the 2014 season when the Bulldogs play at TCU this evening at 6 p.m.

QuoteThere are a couple of connections between the Samford and TCU coaching staffs. Samford Head Coach Pat Sullivan was the head coach at TCU from 1992 to 1997. He led the Horned Frogs to the 1994 Southwest Conference title, and was named the SWC Coach of the Year that same seeason. TCU Co-Offensive Coordinator Doug Meacham served as Samford's offensive coordinator from 2002 to 2004. Meacham's 2004 offense set several Samford records.

Sullivan will be unable to attend the game while he recovers from off-season surgery. He said, however, he is excited about the team opening the season...
