Say Gragg ends up a hog and I eat large amounts of crow...

Thats:
TE Gragg
TE Cantrell
TE O'Grady
TE Bell

All in 2015 class.  I know Bell will probably play DE, but what about Cantrell?

Hog Fan...DOH!

The more TEs the better.  We run a bunch of 2-TE sets, plus, we're really not that deep at the position.

The Boar War

Four tight end sets??

Someone listed him as an H Back earlier today.
Does CBB use an H-back?

He did at Wisconsin.
How did he use them?  I can't think of a famous H-back, other than Hillis, who carried the ball as a RB a TON in the nfl

Me too.  I bet he would be a mean blocker at FB/H-Back/TE too

Travis Beanum comes to mind

Isn't Gronk considered an H back often by the Espn guys?

Cantrell would make a great Hb with his skills. Nice pop on the kick out blocks to.

I still hold faith that sprinkle will be huge for us!  He's got te size, hands, and speed!

Hog_Fink

Henry & Sprinkle are going to be greats..
then O'grady & Gragg
Bell will be a specimen at DE
and Cantrell will probably play H-Back

yeah, but the words bad azz cracker come to mind more than anything...that boy is a friggn monster from the deep piney woods of Fouke, Arkansas...the Pats are a totally different team when THE GRONK is healthy and playing well, he is the most unstoppable force in the NFL today...basically an impossible matchup
The long Grey line will never fail our country.

Cantrell will probably be our H-back next year when Derby leaves. Hes a freak athlete. The AR staff has said that Cantrell is our best 2015 commit regardless of position. Very high on him.

Looking at his measurables, speed and write-ups about his ability to catch and run along with intangibles would lead me to think that he will be on the field early and often and is probably the best TE we get regardless of who else we sign.

Boarcephus

One way to look at is most of your TE prospects run in the 6'-3" to 6'5", 240ish range and are athletic.  They're easy to convert to the defensive side of the ball or OT in a crunch but I don't see us running thin there with Pittman running the OL show.
I need to be more like my dog...if you can't fight it, screw it, or eat it, then piss on it.

In normal sets at Wisconsin, Bielema ran a lot of two TE, one back sets. I think that is what he would prefer here.

You will have a slot receiver, a wide receiver, a tight end, an h-back, and a running back. You can put guys like Cantrell and O'Grady at the H-back, with Henry and Gragg as the tight end. It really gives you a lot of flexibility with blocking and play action.

Foshodo

wait. where is kraus playing?

TexasRazorback

I would like to see Bell move to d, and bulk up cantrell and move him to FB/h-back. A solid blocker who can also sneak out of the back field and catch balls, always gives defenses fits

Special teams, special run blocking TE, etc. He just isn't going to see the field over the talent we are bringing in.

Coach B mentioned that Derby has lined up at H-back in practice.

Henry: He's a do it all type of TE. He is an effective blocker, can catch the ball, and can do some damage after the catch. Plus, he's already proved this as a true freshman in the SEC.

Sprinkle: Sprinkle reminds a bit of Chris Gragg. He has the speed, size and hands. What he will be working on in the future is putting his size to use in the run game and becoming harder to tackle.

Cantrell: Cantrell reminds me Henry, actually. Without being proven on the SEC level, he looks to be equally dangerous in the passing game as he is blocking. A good blend of power and finesse.

O'Grady: O'Grady reminds me of DJ Williams. While Henry and Cantrell both look dangerous after the catch, O'Grady looks to be lethal after the catch.

Gragg: Will Gragg reminds of a more athletic version of Austin Tate. If we had to choose one of these guys to block, Gragg would be the go to guy. However, just because he is a blocking specialist, doesn't mean he isn't a weapon in the passing game. Tate had surprisingly good hands and made some very tough catches, he just wasn't much of a threat to take off and run after. Depending on how he does, I could see Gragg being the type who grows into a tackle.

If Cantrell has a D attitude/mentality, his physical attributes would convert well to MLB.

Fast, athletic and physical TE/DE prototypes are easy to convert to other positions.

Vernon Davis and Aaron Hernandez (before he killed that guy) played a lot of H Back. Most athletic TEs in the NFL now do because there are so few fullbacks.

This is why so many of us say that you never know with recruiting.  I find recruiting to be far more unpredictable, then predictable.  That's probably not as true for coaches or RD, but they can't tell us everything they know and they're still surprised some times.

When I watched O'Grady's tape, I thought "Mike Evans." Athletic enough to go get the ball where ever it is thrown.
