these arebthe kinds of post that rub people the wrong way. I have the same mindset many of you have I just think we are one year off. There is a group who soley base their predictions on hope. You hope every facet gets better, you hope the D is better, you hope BA starts to gondown his reads, you hope the backs can turn to see the ball, you hope we have improved on tackling. You have no evidence other than guessing and hoping. We supposedly had the greatest coaching staff ever assembled but replaced some of them. How do you know how their scheme fits in with the talent. Most of the posters that live on here have been flat out horrible at predicting the final seasons outcome. Why, because they arent using logic but rather hope. Just look at the people who keep saying we almost beat auburn last year, we lost by 18. Just because people are skeptical until we see it doesnt make us any less or more of a fan. Most people here dont even go to games but rather post in the game thread. You cant see what the rest of the field is doing by watching on tv. It takes time to build up talent and the jury is still out on BB system in the brutal west. Time will tell, im a fan regardless of the coach. I also played football and know the talet gap we suffer in most west games. I dont set myself up to be miserable bc my expectations are to high. If we get rolled up, this place will come uncorked.
I think we are a qb away from 6-7 wins next year. I dont think either allen is the answer. BB inherited them as new coaches do. The deck is stacked against us,if we win thats fantastic but if we lose way to many will be crushed because of hopes

However, what I do question is how much you truly understand about football and I wonder if you may be sequestering your optimism for the wrong reasons, namely your misunderstanding of the game and how a winning program is built.

But, I suppose we'll see how the season goes. I'm sure if the season goes well, you'll be cheering with everyone.

I was on a Bama site earlier and they were all picking Arkansas.  But while it sounds positive, I've been around recruiting long enough to know that it may mean nothing.

Recruiting in the last several years has changed fairly dramatically though. Not just the inception of Twitter, but also the amount of flips, coaching staff with bizarre titles, etc. I agree, the tea leaves read to KJ wanting to make an impact on the Hogs behalf, probably at the request of CBB as a stiff "middle finger" to Gus, but I'll wait till it happens before popping the cork.

I hope that he does choose Arkansas, but in my opinion him not waiting until he has seen the team play a game cant be a good sign. I really hope I am wrong. Just because his parents were impressed doesn't mean he was impressed.

I understand well enough to have played qb, rb, mlb and kicked from pee wee through high school. Please enlighten me as to how a winning program is built. It starts and ends with elite players but since you obviously know more than me, please enlighten me.

You are committing the same logical error in that you disregard the possibility of improvement just because you claim there's no evidence of it. There's plenty of evidence of it. What nobody knows is the degree of improvement.

But you are not saying anything that is wholly unreasonable, as far as what you expect. Your degree of certainty might be a little higher than is warranted, but you're not a hater.

Did you watch the game? We had 3 turnovers inside the 20 in the first half. We still were in the midst of a comeback in the second half when auburn fumbled the ball with 3 hogs right there to grab it... just like everything else last year the ball bounced the wrong way for us, and the right way for auburn. So yes we almost beat auburn last year.

my sons train at the same facility where joe johnson, several hogs (portis is the most notable), the 7 ft brothers, archie, several top qb's and hill part time. I have info on several of the athletes we are on but im not getting on here tooting my own horn. If I am a troll, care to make a loser leaves bet. I know for a fact they wanted to play together. Hill has been sold on bama for awhile. Why its hard for adults to understand why kids wouldnt want to go there is beyond me. The whole kids wont get good jobs if they leave is crazy, call in material. I dont care if anyone believes mr but i would bet porkrinds that if im right he leaves, if hes right I will. We havent been to practice in the last 2 weeks because the starting of school but that was the story 2 weeks ago. We train again thurs so ill see if anything has changed.

I'm not saying he's going to be a Hog or he's going to be a Crimson Tide (that sounds weird)... but I'm just telling you, as someone who's been following recruiting for years... don't go placing "life-time ban" bets based on recruiting... it's illogical.
