Watching Tampa Bay and Jacksonville this evening and in the 1st qtr I watched both teams trying to execute what I would call a non-traditional offense. Both defenses just shut it down. Since then they've gone back to more traditional sets, although Tampa Bay is still trying to run it and the Jaguar D is not giving an inch.

Does anyone here feel that there is a place in the NFL for systems like Gus Malzahn's HUNH or similar systems as an NFL teams bread and butter offense? My opinion, maybe only as a change of pace, but I think that the NFL defenses are too big, too fast and far more competent to allow it to take a firm hold in the NFL.
Some people wonder all their lives if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem. - Ronald Reagan

Good points.

You hear these spread offense guys come into the league and talk about the adjustment period that takes place for them to adapt to the pro game.

Apparently, the numbers they put up in college is worth the trade-off.

New England runs as close to a true spread offense as you find in the NFL.

They seem to do pretty well with it.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
