traded to Bucks from Nets.  I don't like him as a coach anyway.  He nearly got fired in the 1st 2 months and then bragged that they swept the Heat .  When they really started to play he saw what the playoffs are all about from a coaching stand point.  It will be interesting to see who the Nets get.  Mark Jackson??

Dr. Starcs

Terrible human being by all accounts. Don't know why any respectable organization would want him as a coach. (Kidd, that is)

What surprised me over this whole thing was how entitled Kidd seemed. He walked into a coaching gig right away, and then he starts requesting more power in personell decisions. When he doesn't get it, he demands to be traded. I understand he was a player for a really long time, but you still need to put in your dues and prove yourself before you start demanding certain things. I'm glad to see the Nets hold their ground.

Yep. I can only respect what he did on the court because almost everything he did off the court and in the locker room was disgusting.

Lionel hollins

Yea, I would like to see Lionel get a head coaching job somewhere, he's a great coach. I'm a Memphis Grizzlies fan and I was upset when we didn't bring him back after setting a franchise record in wins and getting us to the WCF.  The new ownership wanted to be more "hands on" with who plays and the coaching decisions and Hollins wasn't all the way on board with that.

As far as Jason Kidd, it's really hard to say who's in the right/wrong without knowing more information.  Is this a move for Kidd just got greedy and wanted more power/control, or did he feel the GM (Billy King) was not doing a good job or was holding them back, and he just wanted King to not have as much power over the team?

So glad I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Jason Kidd has a long history of being in the wrong.

he must not be all that bad because Milwaukee took him.

You lost me on your point at Milwaukee. One of the worst franchises in the league at least for the past 30 years.

TomasPistola

I don't know what the hell the Bucks see in Kidd. It didn't look like he was even doing the coaching in the playoffs. The players were ignoring him. Honestly, with the team he had last year, they should have provided a stiffer challenge. Brooklyn lucked out.

Milwaukee = Desperate for some kind of success

TomBigBeeHog

there were a lot of other qualified coaches available so I'm just saying that he must have some upside that outweighs his negatives.

He had a good relationship with the owner. That was his qualification.

Not really.   They've been pretty consistently mediocre.

They've won 4 division titles in that time,  have had 2 players win 6th Man of the Year, a coach win Coach of the Year, and an exec win Exec of the Year;  they've lost two EC Finals, and 2 EC semifinals,  and 10 other playoff appearances have been in the mix.

That's 14 playoff seasons in 30 years, against only 5 seasons of under 30 wins, vs 4 of 50 or more.

They are as close to an NBA-Average defining franchise as there is in basketball.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Dr. Starcs

My response was towards the guy who implied that he must be good for Milwaukee to take him. I was just stating that Milwaukee would clearly not be considered a premier franchise by any means.
