Also might make a move for Lebron or Carmello Anthony.

As a Mavs fan, not interested in Lebron.  Would rather get 2 or 3 decent players than deal with him.  I'd take Anthony, especially if we can keep Marion and Vince Carter.

Fellows mavs fan here... I feel like the mavs have up too much, but what do I know. I agree with your sentiments on melo and Lebron. Even though Lebron is better, I'd rather have melo.

Meant to say gave up too much, I believe

Great trade for the Mavs.  Chandler is a former DPOY and was a big part of them winning their lone championship. Only has one more season on his contract as well and he was one of Carmelo's best friends on the Knicks. Felton and Calderon on different kind of PGs but Felton makes about half what Calderon does and has less years on his deal. He also badly needed a change of scenery and Dallas is a much more stable organization right now.

I like it for both teams. Knicks are trying to rid themselves of players that don't fit in the new regime and Dallas is trying to lure in a big-time FA with a nice supporting cast. Feel like they did that here. Dalembert and Ellington aren't huge losses. Maybe Larkin is, but he's also 5'11. Gonna be an uphill battle for him.

I don't see any way that Carmelo ends up with the Mavs. The money is there, but it would be an odd fit moving forward.

I used to argue with HA about how Pel ran the basketball team.  I've since learned to like and respect him.  In fact, I'd go as far to say that HA is well connected or extremely perceptive. - Porkatarian, 11/7/12

I think he ends up in Chicago.

Agreed. I'm hoping Bosh lands in Houston. I don't know what it is, but Cuban can't win with these elite FAs.

LeBron is hands down the best player in the league... It would be laughable for any team not to want him on their roster. I am by no means a LeBron fan but I would love him to be wearing a Bull's jersey next year.

I don't think Lebron wants to be that close to Jordan's legacy.

I'm not disagreeing, but never underestimate the value of a state without income tax.

Without Chandler, Nowitzki and Mavs don't win that championship.

With him, they are just a couple more players away from another serious run.  They need to keep the Matrix and Carter, then get PG and a 3-point specialist like Mello

Good analysis from Zach Lowe of grantland.com on the Dallas/Knicks trade. I don't think it helps either in the long run, but we will see.

A guy told me that he believes that the Heat should just let him go.  Really, he is one of those guys with the attitude that if you don't want to be here then goodbye.  I tried to explain that LeBron is certainly not saying he wants out just exploring other offers like he would do.  But this guy has been on disability since his mid 20s so that did not work.  His disability   weighing about 4 bills or more.

What?
"I've never been a numbers guy," Mallett said. "If you play the game for yourself, don't play. I don't want you on the team. There's one goal we've got here. If you're not trying to reach that goal, don't come to Arkansas."

There is no doubt LBJ is staying in Miami after tonight.

Here is how LeBron's convo with Bosh and Wade probably went:

"You've got two options. Y'all can both either opt in to your big contracts, preventing us from adding the pieces we need, and I'll guarantee you that neither of you will be resigning after this season. OR....you can opt out, resigns at less money over more years, we can go add the pieces we need, and I can mooch 2 or 3 more championships off all the talent around me." (ok, I might have added my own bias there at the end, but you get the point)

If those two guys each opt for the short term gain, LeBron will make sure Pat lets them both go and he will add two new good pieces around him in 2015 (Kevin Love perhaps?).

The only way the heat get another star is if one of the three leaves. The nba won't allow another superstar on that team

The Mavs suck... Lol at you thinking this is going to make them winners again.  They are loses and will never amount to anything.  Getting such a giggle listening to the ticket down here and all the delusional Mavs fans....
Lebron raised money for kids... Rotnei stole crap from the equipment room

Too late, they already have a title.

I would take Lebron in a heart beat.  To me melo is a team killer.  He will never win a ring because he is a very selfish player and doesn't know how to be part of a team.
