And Porits is at the Nike Skills Academy working with Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.

If Qualls learns to doing anything off the bounce he will be tough to deal with.

Hopefully Bobby puts a little more Boogie in his game.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

This is awesome! Two of our players got invited to elite and vvwry selective camps.  1. They'll get better because of this and 2. It means others think we have one of the top big men and wing in the country.  Can basketball season be here yet?

hawgmasta

That's really cool. It says two days of workouts, so, do they just give each other pointers and do drills? I see these kind of events mentioned often but don't really know exactly what goes on and am too lazy to look it up.

I think it's just a giant dunk contest.

Much to do about nothing I'm sure. Congrats to the guys though. D Cousins has the skills and genetics to be a top 5 player in the league top 10 at worst, yet he toils at just above good. Not sure what they'll learn in two days it's good to get out and see the country though. Who pays for these trips?

Depends how you look at it.  Besides the USA team events, the Nike Skill Academies are the most prestigious camps college players can be invited to.  They will get individual instruction in drill and live play settings from pro coaches and players.  They will also be evaluated by pro scouts.  It culminates at the LeBron James Skilly Academy, where it's more of the same.  I've been told that Portis will definitely be at that one, too.

Just above good?   Cousins has been a borderline all-star for a few years.  22/12/3/1.3/1.5 isn't a slash line of a good player-- it is the slash line of an excellent player.

I'm calling BS here because as we all know Qualls was transferring.  We read it here so it had  be true, you know all those with inside sources are never EVER wrong.

Don't forget about the indecent just before the LSU game. It was so bad that he surely was going to be kicked off the team.

Woulda/coulda/shoulda, yet he has managed to stick around. That doesn't necessarily mean the previous incidents did not take place. He's still a wild card. The mods have previously said they won't keep the 'accusations' up on the board, so don't expect them to be posted.

I expect the usual suspects will not like the honesty of this post.

I used to argue with HA about how Pel ran the basketball team.  I've since learned to like and respect him.  In fact, I'd go as far to say that HA is well connected or extremely perceptive. - Porkatarian, 11/7/12

This is excellent news.  Qualls has a chance to be an impact player in the NBA.  He reminds me of Kawhi Leonard.  He needs to keep improving and keep his head straight and he will be a rich man I believe.

The_Iceman

Two things Qualls needs to work on:

1) Ball handling

2) Finishing off of one foot at the rim.

I would also add defense to that list.  If he improves ball handling and becomes a great slasher at the basket, on top of being a good defender, the sky is the limit for him.  And I like the Kawhi Leonard comparison, he's obviously not at Kawhi's level yet, but Kawhi Leonard is a guy he should model his game after, he has all the intangibles to be a similar type player as him.

Yea, his defense was awful at times last year. Loses his man on the perimeter quite often when the ball swings around or goes inside.

How ya been?!

I'm prepping for a brand new season. Been silently gathering members for my anti-HA army. I have a feeling this will be a big year for us.

I just read a tweet by Todd day, he said qualls, keelon and dedric lawson, had a great first day.

Qualls is a pretty charismatic guy, maybe he can do some recruiting for us. Same with bobby at his camp.
