By my count, that is 48 players who could go through fall ball this year.

Breakdown by position (first position listed will be their primary)
RHP - 15
LHP - 5
C - 5
1B - 1
SS - 1
3B - 1
INF - 8
OF - 12

I think that is the right count.  Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I have updated the roster to the best of my knowledge.  I expect more names to come out in the next few days with school starting back.  I found a new addition to the 2014 class in California HS RHP Kevin Silky.  Don't know a whole lot about him.

Don't forget that Serrano and Fic both came to AR as shortstops....neither could play there at the college level....Fic was a failed experiment at 2B...he's back at 1B in pro ball

Ficociello suffered an arm injury that forced him to play 1B.  I think he would have ultimately moved to 3B because 6-4 SS are rare, but the main reason he moved to 1B was an arm injury and DVH wanted to keep his bat in the lineup.  Plus, Fico was on the SEC All-Defense Team a couple of times.

Serrano could be a good comparison to a great hitter without a position.

What happened with Alex Phillips? Don't guess I ever read it!

I'm pretty sure that i saw where Falwell signed with Cisco College

Regarding Wiggins. You don't play for Papa Joe and make errors. Papa Joe don't play that noise.

Who is Papa Joe?  Is that the coach of the Midland Redskins?

He is the manager of the team. Also the man with the $$$$'s.

This is what the State of Arkansas should try to do.  With all the money in this area. You bring the "studs" in from all over the country and put them on a team.  Maybe get Jim Lindsey to loan some apartments or have a couple of host families to keep them.  It would be an OPEN tryout for the University of Arkansas and never have to leave the town to see some of the best talent.

We would have to have a Statewide election to find a coach that everyone agreed on though.  That would be our MAJOR problem.

So Wiggins played for Midland?  How did he do?

He didn't show up on their roster, Patten was the only Hog.

Think Wiggins played for them in 2012 with Benintendi and Oliver.

Is Alberius coming back? or do we know yet?

You can remove Rucker and Falwell.

Falwell was esentially let go at the end of last season.  Ala Matt Brown, I heard that Rucker was  texted that he wouldn't be receiving any at bats in the fall.  As I said before, sometimes things don't work out, but a text?  That is beyond a chicken-feces move by a coach or staff member.  Remember, no matter what sport you coach or at what level, how you handle routine business such as this reflects either positively or negatively on the integrity of your program.

Yes I also heard Rucker was texted not to come back and then left a voice mail stating the same thing.

While most seem to agree the way Rucker was notified wasn't done properly and whether it was a coach or DVH himself that sent the text and left a voice mail, the players deserve better than that. DVH needs to accept responsibility for the way it was handled and ensure this doesn't happen again. It will reflect negatively on DVH's program.
