Thanks for the post, very interesting. Also glad to see Arkansas as one on the uptick

Losing gracefully isn't taught in second-tier programs. See Arkansas, Cincinnati, et al.

Calling All Hogs

This this probably the best method to use because NFL results takes into account both recruited talent and player development. The article would be more accurate if it read something like SEC shifts in talent and player development results.

A point that more times than not goes well under the radar. Player development is all that, even with teams bringing in the star talent. It's comical at times to hear about college players who were completely overlooked in the draft, as if it's always poor NFL scouting. Truth is, often talented players don't get the college coaching, discipline, leadership, needed to make an immediate impact. A lot of them never get the opportunity.

Interesting read. It's also interesting to note who we are on par with.

Outstanding work here.

Can't speak to the last 20 years, but over the last 17 years, since 1998, I know there has been substantial change among some teams.

LSU went from an average of 4.1 NFL draftees per year from 1998-2006 to 6.6 from 2007-2014. A differnce of +2.5 per year.

Alabama went from 3.7 to 5.4, a difference of +1.7 over the same time period.

Arkansas went from 2.6 to 3.4, a difference of +.80 over the same time period.

Georgia declined, from 5.7 to 5.4, a difference of -.30 over the same period.

Auburn also slightly declined, from an average of 3.2 to 3.1 per year, a difference of -.10 over the same period.

One quick thing to take away from this is that LSU should've been in a BCS bowl every year.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.
