I'm a big Mavs fan, but I have to give it to the Spurs for trying this.  I'm not surprised the refs didn't see this, because it's almost like it's so blatantly obvious, they wouldn't be looking for it.

I'm not sure if this is something that, if San Antonio scores there, during the obligatory end of the game video review they'd be able reverse the call based on that.  It would be interesting to know.

Should be able to reverse the call if they had scored.
If a man speaks and no woman is around to hear him, is he still wrong?

Let's go mavs today!! I feel like if dirk can step in front of his man on defense at least half the time, we have a shot.

This has been a great series so far that has pretty much been over-shadowed by the others and ignored by a lot of media.

Should be a classic basketball battle today.

Hopefully it will be... I'm a little scared for my mavs idk why.  The only time the mavs were dominated in this series Blair was suspended and he's back now.

I agree, has been a great series and may be the last time we see Duncan vs. Dirk.

Spurs coulda won with 4 guys today.

Mavs just didn't have enough.  If the Spurs end up playing the Heat, I'll be cheering for San Antonio.

I doubt the Spurs did that on purpose. It's not Pops style to be a cheater.

True, but he's also extremely detail oriented and it's hard to believe he'd miss that.

Mavs can't play d, especially dirk.  They'll be back next year, hopefully they won't match up against a team that's so hard to defend.  I predict the blazers beat the spurs.

Dr. Starcs

How will the mavs be any better next year?

I don't anticipate dirk regaining any type of lateral quickness to be any better defensively.

rzrbackramsfan

I think they'll sign a big time free agent this year finally.

Dirk's shot is practically undefendable.  They foul him on the arm and for whatever reason they don't call it when it happens to him.

Monta Ellis - big time payer.

Devin Harris - fits in nicely

And I think Carter has a couple more years in him.

All we need is a C(like we had with Tyson Chandler) and a power forward.

Oh Lord, notshavin. You aren't blaming refs now are ya?  Lol

They showed a graphic yesterday. They've got a lot of free agents to either let go or re-sign. I just think they've got to get a lot better to be legit title contenders. A big man would help, but I'm not so sure all the other pieces are in place.

It will be very, very hard.

Say they get a Dirk discount-- instead of 22.72M, he signs for 19.45M for the good of the team.  That'll put them almost exactly at $46M  of a $63M soft cap, and the LTT of $77M

They will still have to fill the roster spots of Marion, Carter, Harris, Blair, Crowder, and James.

Say the draft picks fill in for Crowder and James' spots.  Those are going to be reasonably salary controlled, and combined will bring a lower than $3M.      Bringing back  Blair seems the top priority, but his less than a million dollar price tag is going to skyrocket.    A good team-friendly deal for $8M per would bring up new salaries before even considering Marion, Carter, or Harris to  $57M.     That gives less than $20M before the LTT, to try to sign a premiere free agent *and* fill 2 other roster spots.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
