That was one draft you wold have had to try real hard to make a bad first pick.

I'll make a prediction: If BCG were to get the Tennessee job, Calipari will be fired from UK within 2 years because from the 2013-2014 season on, Tennessee will own the SEC East until BCG moves on or retires.

Good article. IMHO Kareem Abdul Jabbar is still the best big man to ever play in the NBA. His
Sky Hook was unblockable.

Good story (Laker fans already know it) how LA went from Jack McKinney as its successful, but short-lived HC, to eventually Riley (with Westhead in-between).

Interesting. I wonder if Moncrief wishes he would've been a Laker :)

laker fans are ecstatic that that didn't happen.

Yes, Magic is better, but Moncrief was a great great professional player.

5× NBA All-Star (1982–1986)
All-NBA First Team (1983)
4× All-NBA Second Team (1982, 1984–1986)
2× NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1983–1984)
4× NBA All-Defensive First Team (1983–1986)
NBA All-Defensive Second Team (1982)
No. 4 retired by Milwaukee Bucks

I know I am biased but Sidney was better defensive player (by far)  close in rebounding and shooting and Magic better ball handler/passer   But stick Sidney with Magics bunch (and leave Norm Nixon at point guard)  and Lakers still would have been awfully good  Magic was in the right place at the right time  he fit that team perfect

Odd to think that in today's NBA scouting Magic would be knock cause the lack of elite athletism.
