I'm dreaming of a sweep for Ark, a sweep for USCe, and a three way tie for second place a half game behind LSU.  Go Hogs!

I have a feeling Tenn's comeback win over Alabama Sunday may be the start of rougher times for them.......

Sweeps are difficult in the SEC, but we may see more sweeps this weekend than we have any other weekend all season. WPS!

Nola got roughed up by the Vols.  That's a surprise, but from looking at the stats, his control was off and he also committed 2 errors.

Saturday games
Florida stretches out it's overall conference lead with a record of 14-6 after a 5-0 win over Missouri.

A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S

Saturday's game 1 is final for Georgia and Vandy. Vandy lead 10-0 in the 5th on Friday before a power outage caused the game to be postponed until today. Georgia came back to make it interesting as the final was 12-9 Vandy.

They will play 2 games today.

A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S

Kentucky's powerful offense seems to have practically disappeared against Ole Miss. Ole Miss came prepared to score runs though.

Friday:
Ole Miss 12
Kent        4  F

Saturday:
Ole Miss   17
Kent          2   T7

I am updating the standings as games become final today, at the top of the thread.

Tennessee seems to be coming back around also. Somebody was bound to get to Nola sooner or later.

I'm convinced now that Ole Miss is a real contender.
They have one of the best offenses and pitching staffs in the SEC.  Still don't have to worry about them being in Omaha though.

Problem with ole miss is their bats can disappear for games at a time. Our bats will decide the series in Oxford.

"On paper", with the way next weekend's schedule is laid out, it is possible for 4 teams including Arkansas to be in a 4 way tie for first in the West division. 3 sweeps would have to take place for this to happen.

Here is the scenario:
Arkansas sweeps Ole Miss
Florida sweeps Alabama
Texas A&M sweeps LSU
Auburn takes 2 of 3 from MSU
Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss and A&M would all be tied for 1st.

And, If MSU takes 2 of 3 from Auburn, there would be a 5 way tie for 1st including MSU, all at 13-11. LSU would be a half game back.

A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S

After Sunday's games, Ole Miss moves up to #4 in the RPI. Playing Ole Miss on the road next week will be our best chance of the entire year to improve our RPI in big chunks. Each game and win against the Rebels could cause us to jump in the RPI enough to effect our post season positioning.

After this past weekend's disappointing series loss to Auburn, it is hard to believe that we still have a chance (on paper) to win the SEC West Championship, though not likely.

6 of the 7 SEC West teams could possibly own a share of first place in the West after the games are completed next weekend. Once again, as it seems nearly every year, the WEST is going to be tight from top to bottom through the end of the season, while the EAST is showing more separation from the top 3 and the bottom 4.
