Jefferson county Razorback club is having it's annual meeting this month. I've been told that Bielema would not attend. I hope he's visiting some five stars that evening. I guess we'll hear what's in store for the basketball team since MA is supposed to come.
Hog fan since 1960. So thankful for Sam Pittman.

Would not or will not?

Kind of sounds like they invited Anderson.

So you're getting the men's basketball head coach instead? I don't see what the problem is here.

Yahoo came out with this today...who would've guessed Pine Bluff would bring in the #1 rank in the country on something?

America's Fastest Shrinking Cities

1. Pine Bluff, Ark.
> Net population change, 2010 to 2013: -4.43%
> Population change from peak (1980): -19.3%
> Unemployment: 10.2% (21st highest)
> GMP change, 2013: -1.7% (17th lowest)

Pine Bluff's population fell by more than 4.4% between 2010 and 2013, or by more than 1,000 people per year in each of the last three years. Most of this decline can be attributed to outward migration. Nearly 5,000 people left the area in that time, as Pine Bluff's population fell from just over 100,000 to less than 96,000. County officials remain unsure about what has caused the drop in population, although high crime rates are believed to be one possibility. Another contributing factor may be the lack of good area jobs -- Pine Bluff's unemployment rate topped 10% at the end of last year, among the highest rates of any metro area. Despite substantial recent gains, per capita personal income in Pine Bluff was just $32,776 in 2012, among the lower incomes in the country and well below the per capita national income of $45,188. The area's economy has also been struggling, shrinking 1.7% last year, among the largest declines in the country.

Golly, gee.....I can't guess exactly why he won't be there. However, just perhaps he has a conflict or other legitimate reason(s) why he won't be there. I'm going to have to start by assuming he WAS invited to begin with..........

Hogfan1660

I'm surprised that Pine Bluff's population only fell around 1000 per year considering the murder rate is close to that each year! Seems like every time you watch the news one of the Homeboys is getting whacked by Big Worm!!!

Hard to convince a kid to go to a school that....
1. Is in the middle of nowhere.
2. A "good time" is considered a night on DICKson.
3. Nowhere close to an actual real city.
4. Culturally Lilly and for the most part bumpkin.
5. Not close to the beach or anything fun.
6. Lacks real tradition.

Tough to win as a razorback. We can do it but not consistently.

I think it was mid-60s population when I graduated high school in the early 80s.

All of my family had moved out within 10 years after that. Like my uncle said "Pine Bluff is a good place to be FROM"
