Benintendi saw a very hittable pitch and put a charge into it, but it didn't find a gap.  Runner on 2nd with 2 outs should mean the hitter is aggressive especially on a pitch like Benintendi saw.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you, but Ferguson (up until that point) had been all over the place.  He's got roughly a 1:1 strike/ball count, hit one batter, nearly hit 2 others.  He's laboring.  JMO.

Reynolds grounds to 2nd and Anderson makes a tough throw to Bernal who the ump says stayed on the bag for the out. No chance at the DP with that throw. Runner on 1st, 2 outs

The previous 2 batters with Bernal and Spoon he had done a good job of filling up the zone and Benintendi got a very good pitch to hit and the combo of Baum, the bats, and the balls don't bode well for a LHH hitter getting it up in the air in RF.

Bernal laid down a sac bunt after 2 pitches.  He went 3-0 to Spoon then got a called strike that should have been ball 4.  He was still sporadic, but it doesn't matter.  He's in a rhythm now.

New pitcher for Vandy is Junior RHP Adam Ravenelle (2-0, 1.56 ERA).  Ravenelle was a 44th round pick in 2011 by the Yankees and is out of the Boston area.  He was a top 140 player in the class of 2011 according to PG and topped out at 93 in high school.

Bax has had some trouble laying off good breaking balls that drop into the dirt.  Most freshman have that problem and I expect him to adjust the more he sees it.
