The helmet cam of a linebacker:

" Third, that play-action, no matter how dumb and obvious it might look from the comfort of the stands, is devastatingly effective because football played out on a whiteboard is a matter of eleven-on-eleven, and on the field is a matter of individuals trying their best not to be confused or fooled in a maze of burly bodies moving at high speed."

Good stuff.

For those embroiled in the Brandon Allen discussion, it might be interesting to mount a minicam on his helmet to get a look at what he is seeing play to play.

Maybe not.  Some would still find a way to use it as evidence to support their own agenda.

the cam wouldn't work on our linebackers because they are either face down or on their backs after tripping on their or each others feet.

Several coaching staffs actually do put cameras on their QBs during practice. Later they watch the film to see the QB's eyes as he goes through his progressions, if he stares a certain receiver down, looks off the safety, ect. Very good tool for QB coaches and OCs.
