Stevenson flies out to Benintendi as it is far enough in that Benintendi has to call off Anderson.

63 pitches for Nola through 4 innings. We might get to their bull pen?

ucahogfan

Fisher BOOM!  He lined a 1-2 fastball on the outer half of the plate just over the RCF wall.  It is his 3rd HR of the year which is tied for the team lead with Anderson and Spoon and his 18th RBI.

4-1 LSU.

Wise caught looking on a fastball that paints the outside corner.

Bernal grounds out 6-3 as Bregman showed some range up the middle.

Robertson lines a single into left.

Robertson's mother is Baylor Women's Head Basketball Coach Kim Mulkey.

What happened?  Didn't notice it.

TikiHog

umpire had the grounds crew guy rechalk the box...when the guy walked off Wise kicked away the back lines while the ump was standing there watching

I Love Jake Wise....

This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Is there REALLY any debate who should be behind the plate for the Hogs? I don't care of he bats less than  .100. He is best catcher in SEC.

bulldog04

Why did Wise do that?  I wish the commentators would quit crying about it

ucahogfan

Serrano works the count full, and he grounds out 6-3 after fouling off a couple of tough 2 strike pitches.  Spoon on 2nd with 2 outs.

For those of you that are not listening on the radio, Chuck has been talking about the HP ump's calls for Nola also. It's very obvious to everyone what is going on.

Yep.  He is one of the best catchers to pass through Arkansas.

Anderson caught looking on a fastball 6-12 inches off the plate.

If Nola has been getting these types of calls all year, it is no wonder he has struck out so many hitters and has such a low ERA.  He has been getting a solid 3-4 inches off the black all night long and the fans whine and moan when one 6-12 inches off the plate isn't called a strike.

A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S

Nola is a great pitcher, he doesn't need any help. Really sad actually!

If I was a scout and came to watch Nola, I would be upset with how the game is being called.

Houston h

Wise may be a good defensive catcher but he can't hit his way out of a wet paper sack and that makes him a liability. It's a 2 phase game, he isn't getting it done.

ucahogfan

Bregman caught looking on a fastball that paints the outside black.  Killian's 2nd K.

ucahogfan

Scivicque grounds out 6-3 as Fisher makes a pretty dig on a low throw by Bernal.

that's was a Nola call for Killian
Almost, a Nola call would have been another 2-3 inches outside.  Killian's at least looked close to the outside corner.  Strike 3 on Anderson looked like it crossed the chalk of the batter's box.

I thought so also. Killian is pitching pretty doggone well though.

Fisher down swinging on a nasty breaking ball.

Just over 7K in the ballpark tonight.  Baum would have 9K+.
