Brian Anderson named to Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List

One of 50 players in the country.  The SEC is well represented as expected.  Other SEC players include:

Tyler Beede - Vanderbilt (one of the three finalists last year)
Austin Cousino - Kentucky (Andrew Benintendi was compared to him before the season)
Chris Ellis - Ole Miss
Grayson Greiner - South Carolina
Aaron Nola - LSU (will be one of the finalists)
A.J. Reed - Kentucky (my favorite to win)
Kade Scivicque - LSU
Austen Smith - Alabama

I think it is a travesty that Jalen Beeks isn't on the list considering his ERA of 1.05 as a weekend starter in the SEC.  Beede has an ERA of like 2.50 (highest among the 4 starters at Vandy) and Ellis has an ERA close to Chris Oliver.

In other news for the midseason watch list, LHP Brady Aiken is the only high schooler to make the list.  Supposedly he has been in the mid 90s this spring and has risen to top 5-10 overall pick consideration.

I think one of the qualifications to make the list was to get 50 likes on your facebook page.  The ONLY thing that should matter to these kids is what happens the 6,7,8 of June 2014.
