This series against So Carolina is the biggest series of the year so far for the Razorbacks.

The Gamecocks come into Baum Stadium ranked #1 in the NCAA and currently have the #1 RPI ranking in the country with a record of 24-3.

The Razorbacks start the series with a record of 18-11 and are 14-4 at Baum Stadium this season. The Hogs are not ranked this week and need to use this series to improve their RPI ranking of 116.

Alabama beat A&M 5-1 on Friday.

Bama goes to 7 and 3
A&M goes to 4 and 6

Alabama winning helps our RPI for now, but we need to gain some ground on them soon.

Tenn beat Vandy on Saturday.

A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S

The Hogs will be no more than 2 games out of 1st place in the SEC overall standings after this weekends games are complete.

A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S

After next weekends series with LSU, we will have completed half of the conference schedule. There is still a lot of baseball to be played, however if we can take 2 out of 3 from LSU we will be 1 game above .500 and IMO the 2nd half of conference play is somewhat easier than the first half.

3 of our first 5 series will have been played on the road and 3 of the last 5 will be played at Baum, including back to back series against Vandy and Auburn with Northwestern sandwiched in between (part of a 9 game home stand). That home stand should be a refreshing break for the players, especially since they have played 8 games in 8 days and 11 games in 13 days, etc. already this season. They also played 4 games in California and 3 games in Florida, 7 games in a 9 day period from coast to coast.

We still have to play Vandy (at Baum) and Ole Miss (at Oxford) in the 2nd half, but we also have Auburn, Texas A&M and Missouri. Those last three listed are no cupcakes, but they should be more winnable than USCe, LSU, Bama, MSU and Florida.

If we take 2 out of 3 from LSU and finish the first half 1 game above .500, I will be very pleased with our position heading into the last half.

We are still very much in the mix at this point for finishing near the top of the conference, but we need to do well at LSU. We have to avoid the sweep at LSU or we will be fighting to get back to 500. If we are to somehow pull off a road sweep of a ranked LSU team, our RPI should skyrocket and that 9 game home stand becomes even more exciting.

We really couldn't ask for any better performance from the pitching staff. If we can somehow continue improving our hitting/scoring we will be just fine.

They got the game in anyway and it looks like LSU is getting their act together just in time for us to roll into town.

Hope they get all those runs out of their system now.

I have to agree with you A R K A N S A S  in that I think the Hogs have an easier path in the 2 ND half of the SEC season. However I think if our hitting woes continue , then the Hogs will be lucky to win 1 game at LSU. Now yes I know the Hogs can win there, but they will need to hit a lot better , and score a lot more runs than they have lately. Now Friday I do not see much hope against Aaron Nola. He is just to good of a pitcher. I love our pitching, and our defense, but our hitting is at times terrible.  CDVH has got to recruit much, much better, and get better hitters with more power.

Henry Hogsome

Can someone please give the final scores from the SEC for 4-6-14. Thank You.

The punctuation is the only thing that isn't the same.  I pretty sure we could go back to some of his posts from last baseball season and copy and paste and they would be the exact same.
