They had so much talent this season. Haith, other than the Arkansas games, wrecked that ship.

jry04

Mizzou and Tennessee will both see a huge drop off next season. If Jabari Brown leaves like some are saying, then Mizzou will probably be one of the worst teams in the SEC.

Brown has a decent future in the NBA as a 3-pt specialist. I'd compare him to a Danny Green.

It is funny to hear the Missouri fans saying that he HAD TO bring in transfers, but then he continues to do it year after year after year after year.  Haith creates dysfunctional programs.

Bingo. If that were true, he wouldn't still be doing it.

They may remain somewhat relevant if they can keep Jabari Brown. His draft stock has plummeted, but he's a projected 2nd-rounder this year.

You just wonder how long Haith can keep the ship afloat the way he is going at it? You can't keep trying to reload with transfers. Looks like he is heading for his third season of regression with that program.

HOGINTENNESSEE

Missouri's success continues be less the further away they get from the Mike Anderson era.

Jordan Mickey, Johnny O'Bryant III, Jarnell Stokes, Chris Walker, and Jabari Brown are the next names to look for in the SEC as early entrants. All of have received buzz as possible candidates. All save for Mickey figure to be 2nd round picks.

He isn't reloading with transfers this year.  Go take a look at the roster.  The kids that will be the "core" players this upcoming year will be guys who have been in the program (JW3 was freshman this year, Rosburg was sophmore this year and Clark was freshman this year).  There are a few transfers left, but by and large he will be able to begin filling holes through recruiting now not just with transfers.  To me, it hinges on Brown.  I have been beating the Wes Clark is a better pure point guard than Jordan Clarkson drum all season.  Talented kid, but very me first.  Great when he can score, but terrible when he gets himself caught in the air with nowhere to pass the ball and has to take a circus shot.  If Brown comes back I think Missouri is ok....no Brown, no shooters that have done it yet in game situations.

I don't see Chris Walker leaving early.  He played what 12 games?

Still talk of the possibility. I think it would be very foolish, but we see foolish decisions each year. Some kids just don't want to deal with school and would rather go to the D-League.

Tough Loss for Mizzou.

But, speaking of guys leaving, has there been any word on transfers or guys on our end leaving this week?

I could see Walker getting picked late in the 1st by someone like OKC because of his size and athletic ability.

Clark, Williams and rossburg are not a scary tandem whatsoever.  You're counting on transfers, sorry.

If Brown leaves also Mizzou will be the worst in the SEC next year.  Might be anyway

Definitely.  Just look at who that guy listed above:  Wes Clark, Jonathan Williams III, and Rosburg.  I can't keep up with all the transfers they will have playing for them next season.  They have Zach Price, Duece Bello, and Cameron Biedscheid who will be able to play next season.

Haith is going after Tyler Lewis and Eron Harris.

It is gross.  Not a way to build a stable, winning program, that's for sure.

Might not be scary, but they have experience and will bring continuity to the program instead of more years of completely new team each year.  They will be there for four years and allow for some other pieces to be brought in to grow the program instead of relying on one and dones of the transfer variety.

Well, it depends on how you value the mock drafts out there. The majority of them had Brown and Clarkson near lottery picks back in the non-conference schedule (of course, they also had Qualls being drafted in the second round), but both of them have moved to the second round or next year's draft.

Good question...he has a good build and a pure shot.  I think he has more of a chance to stick in the NBA than Clarkson.  And don't get me wrong, I think Clarkson is an athletic kid but doesn't have near the shot that Brown does.  I think Brown could have a Wesley Person type career in terms of three point shooting.

What's wrong with bad news for Mizzou?  You should be shouting it from the roof tops...

RoyInSpringdale/MizzouFan

I don't have a problem with Haith plugging holes with transfers while he filters Freshmen in the program. If he didn't use transfers, his record would be sub 20 wins the last two seasons. He has some strong talent in this years group. I am not saying we will sweep Arkansas again, but we wont be as bad as everyone thinks.

Sharky

Pretty sure many were predicting that we'd crush Mizzou this year. We should have, really--they weren't good. Mizzou has two sold four-star freshmen coming next season. Plus a good transfer from Notre Dame. They'll have solid talent again.

http://www.columbiatribune.com/sports/mu_basketball/missouri-basketball/article_f775cb4c-b7c9-11e3-ab6d-0017a43b2370.html

But Haith probably has Missouri on a slide. What's best for us is would be for Haith to do just well enough to stick around at Missouri. 8-10 seems likely, assuming Brown goes. And really, does anyone projected ever stay? Seems rare.

Definitely won't be better next season. Not much talent returning. A few solid transfers, but that typically does not go as expected.

You got a better recruiting class coming in than Arkansas does.

Mizzou has some decent players on the roster for next year. They are only missing a point guard (not sold on Clark.)

I live 20 minutes from Mizzou campus, and every year since Haith has been there, I've said they were gonna suck the next season. They have surprised and done better than expected every year. They will probably do better than most here are predicting. That said, I still think many MU fans (my wife among them) were much happier with CMA than with Haith. Personally, I am very glad we have Mike and like most, believe we are moving in the right direction. Not sure the same can be said for Haith and the Mizzou program.

Blu, a lot of MU fans were down on Haith from the beginning. I  had to look him up to find out who the heck we had just hired. After finding out how he was regarded as an assistant, then taking into account not having any support at Miami, I decided to give him a chance. Negative fans can overwhelm a forum, (unless its a possible championship season) no matter what school being talked about.

I didn't want to lose MA, but came to accept it immediately. It works out good for Arkansas. I am still giving Haith the benefit of the doubt right now. I like his recruiting, I am just concerned with his coaching.

He needs to embrace being a CEO rah rah guy and let his assistants do their jobs and he might just turn out ok.  I like how the roster is starting to shape up, and we should be out of the relying on transfers phase shortly.  Given that he has taken three entirely different teams to post season play, I don't at this point see any reason he shouldn't get 5 years.  The only place we differ is on Clark, I think he is going to be a much better pure point guard than Clarkson could ever dream of being.  We will lose some point production, but I think the offense will flow better.

If they can't improve their draft stock by coming back then there is no reason for them not to leave. If they don't get drafted they can go to the D-Leauge or go overseas and make over a 100k more than likely.
