What big corporations are relocating to Oklahoma? Outside of oil & gas. And most of those people don't go willingly and try to move to Houston ASAP. Take a hike. Zero posters are given about your rogue program.

Try several pharmaceutical research corporations, try several .com corporations. If you believe what you're saying you haven't been to Okc in a long time. Forbes has okc in top 10 for best places to live if you're a millennial, places to find a job, places to start your business, top 10 in outdoors activities according outdoor magazine, top 10 places to retire, etc. hate to break it to you, but Okc and Austin are becoming the "it" cities in this region. But hey, keep making stuff up. It's cool.

Wait. It's okay for your fan base to, in your words, spew propaganda like "why would anyone want to play at OU" but I can't state facts to support why they would? Such a touchy fan base lately.
Well let me clue you in on something: This is an Arkansas fan website. THings are going to be said that other school's fans might not like. Golly, gee....what a shocker that it. As if OU sites wouldn't have some of the same tripe posted on their particular addresses. Wise up d.a.!!

Outdoor activities? Lol. I literally know of no one in their 20's or 30's who aspires to move to Oklahoma City. Dallas absolutely. Austin yes. Okc no. Dallas will continue to get all the talent.

Get yourself a gym membership, lose those mantits and get a life. It's pure comedy to me when fans of a school like Oklahoma brag on their history. The football program has been built on cheating and scandals. That's nothing to brag about. One of college footballs true rogue programs. Guess you Bubbas have nothing else to hang your hats on.

I can find positive articles ab any city. Little Rock recently named a top foodie city, best kept secret etc. Fayetteville too many lists to name. The point is OKC is not the go to place for young talent. They go to NYC, Chicago, San Fran, Dallas, Charlotte, Boston etc. No one chooses OKC unless they have few options. Now go to Soonerscoop while you can.

Man, sure seems like a lot if corporations and out of staters moving here in droves disagree. Okc is growing at a 23% pace. 4k a month, actually. 4th fastest growing city/metro in the US. So, apparently a lot of people love it here.

Lived in Arkansas for 5 years. My wife is from there. Love that fact of your state.
OKC is by far the worst place I've lived. Horrible roads - horrible weather - ugly, baron geography - high crime rate everywhere but edmond/norman - very very little in the way of culture and art - Little to no forms of entertainment outside the Thunder -
All that on top of the fact that city councils refuse to expand and upgrade the roads. The city is growing rapidly yet major interstates are still pothole-riddled, 2 lane roads. This place is depressing..I would take a significant pay cut to live elsewhere.

OU will be ranked 2nd in most preseason polls. Top 5 in all of them.

This goes past optimism and into delusion. There is ZERO chance OU is ranked 2nd by anyone outside of the Oklahoma Daily. There is no question they'll be ranked too high, like they are every preseason. If they weren't we wouldn't be able to enjoy Stoops' annual collapse. But 2nd...wow...wake up.

Quote from: backout60 on March 26, 2014, 01:05:30 amIf the conference died OU could go anywhere to any conference. OU will have the top DL in the nation this year with all 3 guys back.

And this is also classic OU talk. Every offseason, they ramble on and on about how they have the best DL in the nation, the best LB corps in the history of football, their OL is better than all NFL team's...blah, blah, blah...and then those units roll out and tank. You could set your watch to it. There is nothing a Sooner fan loves more than the offseason when they can just feed each other's insanity.

Hey Super

Soonerman, I definitely understand where you're coming from and I've noticed that you try to remain fair and speak reason on another teams message board every time you post. But you'll find that hog fans are of a different breed and most on here carry that "we are best and everyone else can suck it" mentality which often comes across as ignorant. And as long as you've been posting here on hogville surely you've noticed this. You'll see that most of us won't return the same neutrality that you exhibit. Don't be surprised that arguing your point, even if it's within reason, will always be an uphill impossible battle on hogville. It's why we are known as one of the most passionate and "crazy" fan bases.

That being said, I live in Austin and it is definitely where young people are flocking to lately. But I have not heard anything about OKC.

Umm Yea about that. SEC is the one hyping their teams to be nfl teams. Quit fooling yourself. Yea OU will have a great DL and LB corps as they return every one of their front 7 who was on a top 25 defense. And thrashed your beloved Bama whom u love off their coattails. Arky has no room to talk about OU at all.

Pretty sure Arky fans are way more delusional. Every prospect u offer is a hawg lock right?

Just gonna take an educated guess and say you've never step foot on the OU campus. OU is on par with Bama when it comes to t-shirt fans running their mouth. You wear that Rocky Calmus Wal-Mart tee with pride.

Yep. Graduated from there with a Biology degree. Went to OT school at OUHSC. Do traveling therapy across the US which is why I lived in Arky for a couple months.

And people want to be fans when your constantly winning games. They don't wanna root for sucky teams am I right? Which is why a lot of schools don't have t-shirt fans. It's all semantics

Little Rock is regularly featured in positive articles. Top foodie city etc. There's too many positives about NW Arkansas to list. People view it as a place they want to spend the rest of their days. No one says that about Oklahoma. Terrible scenery? You've got to be kidding me. You do realize Arkansas is called the Natural State? Arguably the most diverse state for scenery in the country. Oklahoma being the ugliest state.

This is comedic gold. Did you know there are several .com companies in Oklahoma City? There are also corporations there! Big business, I tell you. Many of them having initials like Inc. or LLC after their name. Lots of presidents, hundreds of CEOs. They generate revenues...and profits. So many profits. It's like, the business center of Oklahoma!

Wait. You're saying Oklahoma has more t-shirt fans than Arkansas? How is that possible since the whole state of Arkansas is hog fans? Its enrollment is 15k less than OU. Of the 2.9 million people in Arkansas how man do you think graduated from UofA? Yet, 95 percent of the state is hog fans. Help me with that math, please.

OU shares the state with OSU and Tulsa. I know Tulsa has a small fan base, but Ostate's is fairly large. My bath must be fuzzy.

are you on drugs? seriously? NWA has gorgeous scenery. I've been to OU's campus several times - if you like boring buildings that match the boring landscape then it's just the place for you. If you have ever enjoyed someplace that looks like a prison, I would strongly suggest it as well. To even try to compare scenery is a joke.

Roads? 540 can suck but it will never compare to 69 in Oklahoma. There was not one time in my 4.5 years at the UofA that I did not hit construction on 69 on my drives to and from Dallas. Not once. And don't get me started on oklahoma drivers... the worst.

Get over it dude! I strongly suspect that (gasp) if I were to go to a Sooner website there would be an abundance of absurd and ludicrous claims/statements made about other programs. Obviously they might not make any sense or have any grain of truth; however, that's the way it is. In the end the only thing that matters is that it's particular school's fan website. I can promise you that other fan sites are going to reflect that particular program's bias to one degree or another. Knowing that why not do everyone a favor-you won't stress yourself by reading what you perceive as garbage and us who love out Hogs-and just not bother either reading or posting. That should definitely benefit all of us.

I'll give you the rest, but the highlighted areas....

Scenery is beautiful in Arkansas, we have mountains, lakes, national forests, and the delta is absolutely beautiful.

I know that someone who lives in a state that has tulsa as a city is not talking about road construction. I have been going to CO my entire life, and I have yet to drive thru tulsa when they were not doing major road construction. Hell this year you had to get off the highway and drive thru town to get back on the highway.

http://www.census.gov/population/www/documentation/twps0027/twps0027.html

From 2000 to 2010, OKC expanded in population by ~73000 or ~608/month. Many people affected by Katrina migrated here during this time. From 2010-2012 OKC gained ~20,000 people or 833/month. I'm not sure where this 4000/month figure is coming from. Are you counting the entire state?

I don't think it's narrow minded to base Arkansas's value on its natural beauty and wildlife. It's by far the best thing we have going for us. I'd like to base OKC's value on something, but I can't figure out what to base it off of other than the fact that it's growing at a 4000/month clip with no road expansion and a nice restaurant at the top of a tower.

One bar? Haha! Bricktown, alone, is 5 to 6 times rivermarket. There's midtown entertainment district, deep deuce, automobile alley, film row, uptown, western and memorial entertainment district. All have shopping, clubs, bars, restaurants, etc. They are building a lifestyle center on memorial, too. Will have class A office, upscale shopping, a 2k seat music venu, restaurants and bars. You must have visited before 1999. Since then there's been an inordinate amount of entertainment places built. Oh yeah, we have a pretty good nba team, too, if you haven't heard.

And huh? You visited me? Interesting.

Not to mention the constant threat of tornadoes and a wind from Hell.

And please. Arkansas is a terrible place to live. Little rock is terrible. High crime rate no growth

Ft smith was voted 6th most miserable city in the US.

The only thing attractive about NW Arkansas is the businesses/jobs due to walmart making businesses come to them.

Terrible scenery. Terrible roads. Always doing construction on I-540
As wrong as you might be, it was okay until you stated "terrible scenery". That is just ignorant. You totally proved your troll status with that crap.

Ha. I lived in Arkansas for nearly 5 years. Tornadoes are prominent there, as well. Better not live in Texas. They gave more tornadoes than any other place in the world. Wind is nasty there too. You guys are trying to nit-pick stuff that's everywhere. I lived right south of Philly for 4 years. Beautiful scenerey, windy, bitterly cold in the winters and lots of snow. Those cons didn't out- weigh all of the pros. Loved it there.

Again, I love how pretty Arkansas is, but I'm not a hunter, or fisher. I can shoot with the best of them, having served and been a marksman, but I'm just not into that stuff. That's what was in appealing about Arkansas to me. Culturally, very different from Okc. I'm an urban type of guy. I like biking, jogging, going to big concerts, sporting events, etc. To each his/her own. I'm just a big city guy.

isnt there a forum for trolls? We weren't supposed to be seeing your Blake bell loving mug for another 8months. So why are you here now??? Go to the OU fan sites and share your knowledge. Because no one here wants to know anything about OU. We do not care. Plain and simple.
Basketball is back, baseball always, football was a dumpster fire once again..... but as the phoenix rose from the ashes, BMF Petrino has risen again!!! Lots to look forward to.

As the rain falls, I realize, that some where out there, some one, is wearing a mask while they shower............
